About this Cook
I am a recent empty nester, my husband and I uprooted after 25 years, and moved to Indy. We love it here! We are soon to become first time grandparents, we can't wait for our little Ava.
My favorite things to cook
I love appetizers, but without a crowd all the time now, I don't have much reason to make them too often. I also love to make all different kinds of soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Lots of cookie, and biscotti at Christmas, usually made them with my kids. Lots of family get togethers for holidays and birthdays. And making all my sons graduation parties food.
My cooking triumphs
I was the one and only cook for every holiday. I made lots of everything, froze it the week before, and my sons would bring all their stray and lonely buddies with them for the holidays, and I never had anything but guys in the house, and then they started bringing girls home instead, now I have two of the best daughter's-in-law a Mom could ever want. They are my best friends.
My cooking tragedies
My first year I was married. I came from a family of nine, and was used to cooking large! First time I made spaghetti, I made the whole 2 lb. box for the two of us. Also, of course I left the bag of goodies in my first turkey I ever cooked. Ewwww!

Six-Week Bran Muffins
I used these for years when my kids were home, now the daughters in law make them too. A teaspoon of all spice is what I add for flavor.

Baked Ziti I
Excellent! Even gluten free is amazing! My hubby has celiac, and was so grateful for such a recipe. Real comfort food.

Quinoa Tabbouleh
Very good, used the food processor, and made everything tiny dice....easy to scoop with tortillas or pita. Fresh lemon juice only, not the bottled stuff! I added some garlic also, and a handful of mint. Yummy!
