Colored Sugar

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
So simple...My kids really enjoyed making this. I bought cheap salt & Pepper shakers from the dollar store and put the sugar in them to make it easier for decorating holiday cookies.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
This is a god recipe. I used my kitchenaid mixer. I microwaved the milk for about 1 minute, checked temp. to make sure it was not too hot then mixed sugar and milk together in mixer bowl. Added yeast, let sit and proof for 15 minutes or so. Added eggs, butter, salt, mixed together, then added flour last little by little. Put dough into a bowl that was sprayed with pan spray, covered with damp cloth and then put into 200 degree oven (turned it off when I put dough in) to rise for about 45 minutes. after dough had risen, rolled out, added sugar and butter, rolled up and made the rolls. One thing Ifound, since I have made these a few times....When you put them into a pan to rise the 2nd time, let there be space between the rolls so they can rise more and they will be fluffier and larger. These are sooo good...it took me making these about 3 times to get it right, but I have never baked bread or made dough before.

This was absolutely yummy! It tasted like Pralines. I used walnuts instead of pecans though...you could not tell any difference!

Daddy's Fried Corn and Onions

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2006
This was delicious! I used canned corn and I can't wait until I get some fresh corn to cook it again. It is very close to a side dish that I ordered from a restaurant in Hilton Head, SC, but they added mushrooms to it as well. I might try that next time too! Thanks for the recipe!

Spicy Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2007
Great recipe. I was actually worried how it would taste, but was pleasantly surprised. I used "Good Seasons" Italian dressing seasoning packet, followed directions to make dressing, which worked perfectly b/c It makes about 1 cup.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2007
Yum...a very good alternative to just steaming them. I did not use fresh brussel sprouts (they were too pricey in the store), I just used frozen, and they came out fine. I also was out of olive oil and used regular vegetable oil. My daughter and I enjoyed them very much! Thanks for the recipe.

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2006
I halved this recipe and used half & half instead of cream, b/c it was all I had and left out P. cheese, and this was great...it was just like some old country cookin'. Next time I think I might blend up the corn a little before cooking, to make it more like creamed corn. I will use cream instead of half & half...it was good with it, but I am sure it will be better with the cream. Thanks for the great recipe!

New Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2007
The mayo mixture to this is great...I did not have red potatoes, just made potato salad from what potatoes I did have and mixed the mayo and seasonings into and it is by far the BEST my family has tasted. We will never go back to our old recipe!!!

Seven Layer Salad

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2006
YUM!!! With my picky-eaters at my house, this ends up being a 4 layer salad, but it is great!!! The salad dressing is delicious, I usually add a little lemon juice to it. I cook my bacon in the oven at 400, so it cooks up nice and crisp. Thanks for the wonderful recipe.

YUM! This is certainly different, but great. I added a dash of soy sauce to mine after I cooked it, and it was just the right addition!

Caramelized Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2006
This had a very good flavor, I used chicken wings and wished I had used breasts. I covered the pan when i put it in the oven and I think maybe I should not have done that, b/c the sauce never caramelized, I had to add cornstarch to it. I took the cover off after about 30 mins thinking that this was why the sauce was not getting thick, but it still didn't help much. SO, the mistake could have completely been my fault. However, the flavor was great! Can't wait to try it on breasts..thanks for the recipe.

Caesar Salad Supreme

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
i was afraid that this would be over-powering, b/c when i taste-tested the dressing before i refrigerated it, it was kinda fishy, but on the salad, it was great and did not taste fishy at all. Our family loves ceasar salads, so this will become a regular!

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2006
i was pleasantly surprised with this recipe.....i did leave out the basil b/c i don't like basil very much, but it was still great. My husband loved it as well. I was unsure of the mustard, like everyone else, but it really did give it a kick. I will be sure to keep this recipe around!

This is such a good way to spice up pork and beans. I am not a big fan of them at all, but my husband and I loved this. Good additions to make a plain old can of beans taste so much better.
