About this Cook
I am learning to make more things in a slow cooker so I am looking for really great recipes that are not time consuming to make. As many do...we have a very busy life schedule and quite frankly, I am tired of not having time to cook and we always end up going to restaurants to have someone else cook for us. Occasionally that is great, but not almost every night!! ;)
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna is my favorite dish to make! Everyone loves my Lasagna so if we have dinner guests....that is what I am making!! :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
German foods such as: Sauerbraten, Raladin, Frickadelan! Slovak foods such as: Paplonik (cheese bread), Halupki, Halushki, Bleanies Holiday Foods such as: Pork and Sauerkraut, Ham, Kielbasa, Fried Potatoes, Turkey, Fish, Roast Beast (sorry for the spellings)
My cooking triumphs
Recently tried a Chuck Roast in the Slow Cooker with 3 Envelopes! First my husband prepared the meat with seasonings and corn starch (marinated in fridge 1 hour) Then my son mixed together one envelope of brown gravy, one envelope of ranch dressing and one envelope of onion soup mix with 2 cups of water.... We put the meat into the slow cooker, poured the mixture on top and set on high for 5 hours! It was the most delicious roast we have ever made! So tender!!
My cooking tragedies
One time I was attempting to make chocolate fudge....I was putting the ingredients into the bowl and mixing and suddenly everything turned to a powder!! It was the strangest thing ever! *shocked*
