I have been married to my wonderful husband for over 6 years. We have a beautiful 2 year old daughter. From August to May, I am a kindergarten teacher at our local primary school. From June to August, I am a stay at home mom and I LOVE it. I like to cook, but I love to bake. I have been cooking or in the kitchen helping cook for as long as I can remember.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook have to be sweets. I love to make desserts. Some of my favorites to make are chocolate chip or M&M cookies, strawberry cheesecake, brownie trifles, banana pudding, pecan pies, breads and muffins. I could go on and on.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family does not have any family cooking traditions. However, I have lots of memories helping my granny and my mom in the kitchen. That's how I learned to cook. Now that my husband and I have started a family, I am trying to start some family cooking traditions with my daughter and my husband. I hope that my daughter will treasure her memories in the kitchen as much as I do.
My cooking tragedies
I was experimenting with a recipe that looked very tasty. While the pie was baking for dinner it smiled delicious. The aroma filled the whole house. My husband came in from work and wanted to know what had the house smelling so good. He could not wait to eat dinner. It was beautiful when I took it out of the oven. The crust was golden brown. I served this wonderful smelling dish to my husband and we sat down to enjoy our supper. We took a few bites out of it. It did not taste wonderful. It did not taste horrible. It did not taste at all. This wonderful smelling dish had no taste at all. To this day, my husband still laughs about the recipe I tried that smelled so good, but did not taste at all.
