Okay, I don't like donuts as a generally rule, but the other people who live with me do. These seemed easy, and I felt like baking...and I CAN be nice, so I decided to make them tonight for breakfast in the morning. They are incredibly easy to make, that is for sure. So, like any good cook, I had to try my creation. Now I am typing this with sugary fingers, after just having finished my 4th muffin!!! I followed the recipe exactly, using butter and also freshly grated nutmeg. I found that I only needed to bake them for about 11-12 minutes for them to get nicely browned. I see in other reviews that some found the amount of nutmeg to be overpowering. On the contrary, I found these muffins to be rather delicate in flavor. They are light and airy, rather than dense. Perfectly pop-able! I think I will try different types of toppings, maybe a glaze. But these are delightfully tasty just as written. Thanks for a great recipe, Dianne :)
