Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2011
AWESOME! For what it's worth, I tried the pan method another reviewer described, and it produced more of a flat-bread. The directions in the original (using the oven) work great for puffed up REAL pita bread. I found 3 to 3.5 min produced the softest, most foldable.

Makhani Chicken (Indian Butter Chicken)

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2011
Very nice. Good flavor. I used tomato sauce in lieu of "pureed tomatoes", and would have liked the sauce to be a bit thicker. My husband is Indian, and found the flavor to be very nice.

Fantastic. You CAN absolutely pipe this - anyone who said they can't didn't make it right.

Maple Bacon Pancake

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
My family really enjoyed it. We used sausage b/c we were out of bacon, and none of us felt the need to add any syrup to it. The cooking time IS off though, thanks to the reviewers who suggested 375 -- I still baked it for 1/2 hour!

Pumpkin Swirl Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
It seems redundant to say it, but these are really, really good. I used heaping measurements of the cinnamon and nutmeg to suit our tastes, but otherwise followed as written. We made muffins, (regular size). Baking for 25 minutes at 350 was PERFECT.

Sour Cream Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
They were good -- very, VERY sweet. I baked them for 30 minutes (based on other reviews) and the center is still QUITE moist. I also subbed 1 c whole wheat flour to try to add a bit of nutrition, & next time I'll try reducing the sugar for the filling.

Cranberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
It was good, but I think next time I'll add vanilla to the cheesecake. The cooking times were spot-on, which is a problem I've run into in past recipes.

Turkey Potato Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
It was really, really good! I used about 1/2 the cheese called for (16 oz just sounded like a lot). I also did a "crust" layer w/stuffing, poured the extra gravy over it, and then used cream of chicken rather than cream of mushroom b/c we didn't have it on hand. It was quite tasty, my guests loved it, and it was a GREAT way to use up leftovers!! I'll definitely do it again.

Creamy Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2008
It was good - but kind of light on the chocolate flavor. It may have been the kind of cocoa powder I used. This time I'll be trying dark chocolate, so I may be happier. - Edited to add: the cocoa powder makes a huge difference. I loved it this time!

Simple Slow Cooker Meatloaf

Really yummy. Both of my kids enjoyed it (which is AMAZING). Much better than I expected for a crockpot meatloaf.

Baked Chicken and Stuffing

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2007
Very tasty. Good comfort food. I added some chopped broccoli for some nutrition - and could barely taste it (a plus for us). I agree that it's a bit salty, so next time I think I'll use healthy choice chicken & celery cream soups. the stuffing mix will make up for the salt.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2007
Very good. Just as described. My kids loved it (which NEVER HAPPENS unless it's a hot dog or pizza). I can't see how it ended up dry for anyone. Our only complaint would be that it's rather bland ... not very zesty ... but a different bbq sauce might help that. I just upped it to 5 stars b/c I've made it for 3 families who just had babies, and all of them LOVED it.

Cheeseburger Buns

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2007
not good. i skipped the filling altogether and made sloppy joes. the dough - while easy to work with - lacked flavor. i'm going to use the remaining dough and try a bacon/egg/cheese filling.
