Classic Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2013
thanks so very much! I've been cooking for 54 years. My beloved mother in law taught me, and she used to make this.. I didn't make it for so long I didn't remember exactly how much of what to put in it. Its my husbands favorite way of having mac and cheese. I'm making it tonight and he will be so surprised. This is a great recipe, and again, I thank you so much.

Cornbread I

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2012
we were really surprised! when we took it out of the oven, we thought we were gona have to find a different recipe, but we LOVED this! We were surprised that it was so flat, but it was nicely brown, the taste is out of this world!! It isn't sweet or cakey, and lots of reviewers say it was too salty, but we didn't find that to be true. It was flat enough that we couldn't slice it in half and butter it, so we put the butter on top,and it worked so well. it doesn't make a large amount, but we don't need a large amount. its a real keeper! We couldn't be happier! Its going to have a special place in our recipe file! thank you!

Flax and Sunflower Seed Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2006
this raised great, with no problems, and the texture was wonderful. But it was more bland then we are used to. If you are used to bread that isn't robust, you will love this one. I even added some sourdough starter for some of the water with no problems.

Cheesy Baked Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2006
I just recently started experimenting with salmon recipes, and it probably will not become one of my favorite foods... but.. this recipe is a very good one! It was really very nice, and I do recommend adding extra cheese. For those of you who love salmon, you'll love this recipe. I liked it, even tho salamon isn't my dish.

Tangy Turkey and Swiss Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2005
Excellent! I made it with the low carb wheat bread by natures own, and I used left over turkey from a previous meal, and it was soo soooo Good!! I cannot wait to try it with french, or Sourdough bread, and smoked turkey. It has to be out of this world if what I actually did fix was so good!

Strawberry Daiquiri

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2005
this didn't work out well for me... found it kinda bland, and it was more of a thick slush then a liquid drink. Guess its all in your blender and what you use in it.

Mozzarella Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2005
excellent!!! what a great dish! I added the basil, and parsley as previously suggested, plus the wine. I also added dried, chopped onion. Oh yummy! It makes a sorta sauce that is delicious served over the chicken. I used canned mushrooms, cause I didn't have fresh and it was just great! I also added pepper, and salt.

Hush Puppies I

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2005
This was the most awful hushpuppy recipe I ever tried. It was a runny mess. Shape into small ball??? I don't think so. Something, (like flour) had to have been left out of this recipe.

Sourdough Rye

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2005
really good! I have a 33 year old starter,so I have been using sourdough for quite a number of years.I only made a couple changes.. one, I added one package of yeast to the 1/4 cup water, and I just added the first ingredients to my starter and let it sit for an hour or so, cause I didn't know I was gona make this.I did use someones suggestion that onion be added, so I used dry chopped onion in the bread and sprinkled some on the baking pan. I did an egg wash,( one whole egg with a tsp. of water, mixed) and brushed it on the bread before baking, then added a sprinkling of caraway seed. It was really good. Its a real keeper! I made one big fat loaf instead of two.
