About this Cook
I used to fail my Home Economics classes at school and yet now, I find myself wanting to bake and cook more than anything.Perhaps it started with my obsession with all things sweet, I now want to try my hand at every dessert recipe I find myself staring at, especially those that come with sinfully glossy photos.
My favorite things to cook
American Carrot Cake, chewy chocolate oat cookies, Tiramisu
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma's cooking. Being chinese, I can never stray far from asian food, especially when it comes out of Grandma's kitchen.
My cooking triumphs
Making a tiramisu for the first time and receiving nothing but compliments.
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list, well, not THAT many, just had a couple of tragedies with cakes...=(

The Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie
I replaced the flours so that it would be gluten free and reduced the oil by 2 tablespoons. still yummyyy. =)!! the oil taste was less pronounced the next day. mmmmm i'm not giving any away. I suggest under baking them slightly too. (duh) heh. =) thanks for the recipe!!!

Tiramisu Layer Cake
i didnt use the entire recipe, i was just looking for the mascarpone flling that didn't reauire hard work and any raw egg and this was perfect. have never tasted how the ones with raw egg were, but i love using this simple mascarpone filling recipe! =)

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
The pancakes were really yummy but they weren't as fluffy as i hoped they would be, maybe a little more milk might help even though my batter wasn't as thick as the other reviewers made it out to be. or maybe even more baking powder. I'm not sure, but they are definitely the best pancakes i've made. totally lovin' it!=)
