Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2010
Used a cut of elk sirloin. Rubbed the spice mixture on and let sit for sevral hours in the fridge. Cooked on a charcoal grill... AMAZING! Not dry at all, which is often a problem with elk roasts.

After-Thanksgiving Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
Awesome! I used half the butter and flour that the recipe called for. I think it would have been too greasy with all that butter. I also uded 2 onions but I will use 3 next time. I made my stock the day before and kind of freaked out when I pulled it out of the fridge and it looked like jello. It was perfect though once it was warmed up. Will definetely make again with turkey or chicken.

Spinach Quiche

Very good. I halved the butter and will use even less next time. Didn't use a crust either and it came out great. Added 3 slices of crumbled bacon... yum!

Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
Good recipe. 5 star with the following changes. I used the homemade taco seasoning recipe and a refried beans recipe found on this site. I took the suggestions of other and added a can of chopped tomatoes, small onion, minced garlic, and used the taco seasoning (omitted the spices) to the ground beef mixture. I mixed green chiles with the sour cream and omitted the green onions and olives. Will make again

Honey Curried Roasted Chicken and Vegetables

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2007
I cooked my chicken in the crockpot all day. Then I put it in the oven with the veggies and sauce for 30 minutes at 350. Yummy! Omitted the apples and mushrooms since I didn't have them on hand. I used only 1/3 c. of honey and it was plenty sweet.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2007
I cooked the beef with brown gravy mix, 1 T soy sauce, and 1 T. worcestshire as suggested by others. I also steamed carrots with green beans and did not mash them, which saved time. Very good served with hot sauce. I may try the French fried onions next time.
