Mimi's Slumgullion

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2005
My husband loved this. He actually had thirds!! I made the recipe as is and I think the only change I will make next time is to cut back on the oil. I don't usually use all the oil called for in a recipe, but wanted to try this as written first. Thanks for the recipe. This one is a keeper.

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
You know you have a winner when your (picky) 3 year old exclaims, "Mmmm...Mommy, I Love this Chicken!!!". This was very easy to make. Served it with Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad from this site. Great Meal!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2006
Yum, Yum, Yum. I made this for Easter and several times since. It never lasts. The first time I made it I didn't have enough cranberries so I did 1/2 cranberries and 1/2 dried cherries and it was great. The last time I made it I substituted honey for the sugar and that was awesome too. My husband actually went back for thirds!!!

Egg-Free Dairy-Free Nut-Free Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2005
This recipe is awesome. I used this recipe to make cupcakes for my son's preschool class because one of his classmates is allergic to eggs and nuts. All the kids loved them. They didn't even realize that they were "special". And his classmate got to enjoy a treat with the rest of the class. Thanks Bridget!!

Famous Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2005
This was really good. I used thin cut chicken breasts and baked them for about 25 minutes. Plus, I didn't have butter so I used margarine made from olive oil and it tasted great. Thanks!

Mexican Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2005
This was really good. I was looking for a quick recipe for chicken with ingredients I had on hand. I didn't have taco seasoning so I used fajita seasoning and I didn't have any tortilla chips so I used nacho cheese flavored chips. It turned out great. My husband said he wants this again! Can't wait to try it will all the "right" ingredients. Thanks for the great recipe Sue!

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2005
This has wonderful flavor, but was too runny with only 3T cornstarch. I will make this again, but will add add'l cornstarch. Also, I made a cinnamon-streusal topping because I only had 1 pie crust and it tasted great that way also.

Made this recipe as is. Nice, satisfying meal. Not gourmet, but good. Served over brown rice. Husband & kids all ate it. Will make again.

Mom's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2005
I thought this was pretty good. I added onion which gave it a little kick. I also pressed the cucumbers for about an hour before to reduce the moisture a bit. This makes a lot of dressing. I really like the dressing, but I may make only half of it the next time. But that is just my personal taste. I will definately make this again. Thanks for the recipe!!

Barbeque Pork Two Ways

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2006
This is pretty good. I made recipe as is and cooked for 7 hours. Will cut back to 6 hours next time because pork was starting to get dry. Still great flavor and my 5 year old said "this chicken is good, Mom"! Ha Ha. Will definately make again. Thanks Kimber

Turkey Pot Pie II

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2005
This is a great recipe for kids. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I wasn't able to follow to a T. I left out the onions because I'm the only one who likes them. And I didn't have pie crust, so I melted a little butter and mixed with plain bread crumbs and sprinkled it over the top. My family loved it. My 5 1/2 yr old had 2nds and is asking for leftovers today! Couldn't ask for anything better than that!

Alison's Slow Cooker Vegetable Beef Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2006
Yum! We really enjoyed this. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I altered it somewhat. I reduced boullion to 6 cubes and left out the salt because I don't usually cook with salt. I also reduced pepper to 1 tsp so it wouldn't be too spicy for the kids. It turned out really great. I think next time I'll only put 5 cubes of boullion in or maybe try reduced sodium beef broth. This is purely a personal choice. My husband's family usually adds salt to whatever I cook. As far as salt goes, I just feel like it's better to put in too little and add to it then to put in too much and no one will eat it. Thanks for the recipe. I will definately make this again.

Blueberry Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2005
This recipe was very good. My husband and 5 yr. old loved it. I did cut the sugar by about 1/2 cup and think that next time I will reduce it some more. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. It is very sweet. More like a dessert, but still very yummy. I will definately use this recipe again! Thanks Laujra.

This soup was ok. My kids didn't care for it and we didn't like it enough to make again. It just didn't wow us. Thanks anyway.

This recipe needs a kick. I tried adding bacon (the not so healthy approach), but it was still very bland.

Amy's Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 5, 2005
My husband said he liked these. But my 2 kids and I did not. They were too spicy for the kids (even after cutting the red pepper flakes by 1/2). And they just didn't seem quite right to me. Sorry.
