Spicy Pumpkin Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
The flavor of this recipe is perfect. This is what pumpkin pie is supposed to taste like! I tried this once with canned pumpkin and again another time with fresh pumpkin, and it turned out terrific both ways!

Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
This soup turned out great, and was gobbled up by my family. It does make quite a bit, however, so be prepared to freeze the extra or else halve the recipe for a family of 4 or less. I would also use about half as much poultry seasoning next time, but that is just a personal preference! This is a great recipe.

Cinnamon Candied Apples

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
The flavor of these apples were super! However, the sauce never thickened up, and there was way too much of it. I have come across another recipe that did not call for any water.. just using the apples and red-hots. The juice from the apples gives it enough moisture. I think that is how I may try these the next time.

Frosted Cranberries

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2006
This turned out great, and looked so festive! I like the idea another had about rolling them in corn syrup instead of pasteurized egg whites prior to the granulated sugar. I may try that the next time, so they will be even less tart!

Red Potato Salad with Sour Cream and Chives

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
The consistency of this potato salad was good, but I agree with another in that one must make so many changes to it, that you end up with a completely different recipe. The recipe as written is extremely bland! It was a neat idea, kind of like a sour cream and chives baked potato, but the great chives flavor is just overpowered by all of the potato starch and sour cream. I would substitute a flavorful salad dressing such as Miracle Whip for some of the sour cream, and even some sweet pickle relish and yellow mustard to give it a little more flavor. Even with the additions, we had a ton of it leftover, which was then fed to our garbage disposal!

Sassy Chicken Enchilada Dip

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
This dip always goes fast, and I am constantly having to repeat the recipe for those who try it. It packs an all around great flavor, and is extremely tasty!

Taco Seasoning II

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
This is a great substitute for the pre-packaged taco seasoning mix. I'll never buy one again, since I can stir this up in a flash with ingredients I already have on hand... and it tastes exactly the same!

These cookies are true to their name. I am a peanut butter lover, and they satisfied me! They come out pretty moist, and are a great cookie for Breakfast or as a protein packed snack.

Scrumptious Salisbury Steak in Mushroom Gravy

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
This recipe is yummy... and I don't even care for mushrooms normally. The gravy it makes is very tasty over egg noodles.

Lucy's Mac and Corn

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2006
I made this recipe exactly as indicated, and it turned out perfectly. It reminds me of a dish my Grandma made, similar to scalloped corn. I am giving this a 4-star rating, simply because it is not convenient to cook it for an hour total, as the recipe indicates. A person would have to make modifications like pre-cooking the macaroni in order for it to be a more time efficient dish. However, it tastes wonderful, and my husband and 5-year old daughter LOVE it!

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2005
This sauce turned out very well. However, you have to serve it immediately, because it tends to thicken up rather quickly. I didn't have plain cream cheese, so in a pinch, substituted chive and onion cream cheese, which complimented it nicely. Leftovers of this dish were tasty also!

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2005
The first batch of cookies turned too dark, at a length of 15 min. baking! Once I adjusted the cooking time to 10 min. however, they turned out very well. My toddler loved them, and they seem like a healthier cookie option, with the bananas and oatmeal.
