Naan

Fantastic! This was so easy, and so good! I used a cast iron skillet to cook the bread, and tried a few on my gas BBQ grill. Had to give others the recipe when I served it to my friends.

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2007
So good, so easy! A family fave, "birthday quality", that is their highest rating. I don't change a thing, and it is fabulous. Occaisionally we might add some sliced provolone, and saute a few sliced onions and red or green bell peppers to make it a bit more like a philly cheese-steak, but we still dip them!

Sauerkraut-Stuffed Slow-Cooked Pork Roast

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2007
I tried this with a pork roast I bought on sale, and wow!! In my opinion, this is the BEST and EASIEST way to prepare a pork roast. It was absolutely delicious. I served it with mashed potatoes and green beans. The meat was tender, the juices were so tasty. The sauerkraut didn't overwhelm the dish, in fact, most of my family were suprised there was kraut in it at all. They could see it, but it just didn't have that "in your face and up your nose" kick that they expected. I had to guard the leftovers! ;) This will be on my standard list of recipes. Thank you for sharing it!

Mexican Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2007
This a great recipe that uses ingredients that I normally have on hand. I added an extra layer of tortillas and a little extra tomato sauce and salsa (the tortillas soak up the sauce!)and sometimes I throw in some black beans. Everyone loves this. I serve it with Mexican Rice II from this site. Thanks for this easy family pleaser!

Mile High Shredded Beef

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2007
I was disappointed with this recipe. It was missing something for my tastes. It would have been easier to just add a good bottle of BBQ sauce. That said, my 9 yo daughter loved it. I will probably try another recipe for my $12 roast next time.

Peanut Butter Temptations II

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2006
These are fantastic! So easy, and they look like you slaved over them. We saved even more time once by using a roll of store-bought sugar cookie dough (which made 34). Make sure to spray the mini-muffin pan between each use!

Pie Crust VI

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2006
I was excited to find this recipe, mine had been lost. This is an excellent way to make a lot of crust at once, and it tastes great. You may need to add a little water at the end if it is too dry. I managed to eke out six single crusts of different sizes. A great help at Thanksgiving! Thank you Norma for sharing this recipe!

Golden Crescent Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2006
I was so excited to find this recipe! These rolls have been a Thanksgiving tradition for as long as I can remember, in fact they are right up there with the turkey for must-haves! They are so easy, you don't even have to knead them! They are NOT croissants, they won't be flaky, but are just a wonderful, special dinner roll.

Caramel Ham Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2006
I could only give this three stars; my husband liked it, but he was alone. It was a huge amount even for my family of seven...which means a lot of leftovers! It turned out very mushy despite the ten pieces of bread and six eggs. I followed the recipe exactly as was written. I even ground my own ham. I may try this again, but I'll keep looking for the perfect ham loaf recipe.

Bavarian Style Meatballs

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
This is a very tasty dish! The sauerkraut is not overpowering, nor is it too sweet. I served it to my church family, and they all loved it. I will be making it again soon! I loved being able to use frozen meatballs and just throw it all in the crock-pot. So easy!

Squash Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2006
This was really good! I made it as close to the original as I possibly could. I didn't think the chili powder was too much. Great flavor! I used canned diced tomatoes, canned beans, bottled lemon juice and ground cumin instead of seeds, which made it so easy. I finished it up in the crock-pot and served it to my church family. They loved it! To make peeling the squash a little easier: cut it in half, zap it in the microwave for a couple of minutes. After it cools, cut into lengthwise pieces and use the vegetable peeler. It will be a little softer.

Ham and Cheese Picnic Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2006
This is a fantastic recipe! I will definitely have fun playing with the fillings. I want to try it with precooked meatballs and a little red sauce; or salami, provolone and muffuletta olive salad! The possiblities are endless. I followed other reviewers' advice and added Italian seasoning to the dough (and a little garlic powder)then brushed the top with butter and a little parmesan cheese. Mmmmm!! It smelled so good baking, and was beautiful! It was the perfect thing for a picnic but I had to cut it in half to fit it in my basket!lol Thanks Holly for a great recipe. I'll be making this again and again!

Inside Out Ravioli II

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2006
This is one of my favorite easy meals. I make this when my kids have friends over because it is so easy to make, everyone likes it and it's a fun food but cheaper than pizza! I usually sub. Italian sausage for the ground beef if I have it, and whatever cheese I have on hand-usually co-jack. It is considered by my family to be "birthday quality" which is their highest praise. Thanks Mary for a great recipe!

Spam on the Go

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2006
This is one of my family's favorite lunch recipes (easily feeds mom and 5 kids)! I tried it once without sesame oil and was not impressed. That is definitely a must. I use a little less black pepper, and a little more green onion. Mmmm.

Broccoli, Corn, and Green Bean Saute

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2006
I'm giving this five stars even though not all of my kids liked it. I loved it. I used frozen veggies because that is what I had on hand but I rinsed them with warm water to thaw a little before cooking. I only used about 1/2 of the feta cheese it called for and plain is all I had. I will try it again with the flavored kind. This dish goes great with "No Name Orange Roughy" from this site.

No Name Orange Roughy

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2006
This is one great recipe! I prepared it for my family last night using a sauvignon blanc wine. After removing the fish from the simmering liquid I ladled out a little over a cup of it and added it to one cup of couscous, let it sit for about five minutes, then fluffed it with a fork. I served the fish over the couscous for a delicious meal! I also prepared "Broccoli, Corn, and Green Bean Saute" from this site. Thank you for this recipe that I will fix again soon!

Eggplant Mixed Grill

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2006
I tried this recipe "as is" and it was wonderful! I was a little worried that there wouldn't be enough oil and vinegar, but by the time it had all marinated for two hours it was perfect. The fresh herbs were great, a wonderful way to cook fresh veggies in the summer! Definitely need a grill basket!

Southwestern Chicken Roulade

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2006
Marvelous! I made this recipe without changing anything(except that I didn't measure the cheese, I grated an 8 oz. block). The Masa really adds to the flavor and texture. The filling was more than I needed to stuff four chicken breasts, so I quickly thawed and pounded two more and had six. I will enjoy playing with this one. It would be good with pepper-jack cheese, and I can see how different brands of sausage or salsa could really add variety. I served this with Mexican Rice II from this site. Mmmmm!

Reuben Dip

Reviewed: May 1, 2006
This was great tasting dip, but as it cooled the cheese hardened. I wonder if it would work better if it were stirred up instead of layered. Will try that next time. Still, it was delicious and there were no leftovers! served it with rye crackers.
