Grilled Tri-Tip with Oregon Herb Rub

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2011
This is incredible! I have made this for company, and it always gets great reviews. We use the leftovers for steak sandwiches. YUM!

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Absolutely love this. I often substitute bisquick for the refrigerated biscuits, and it is still superb! I rarely use cream soups when I cook, but I've made an exception for this recipe!

Ham and Bean Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2007
My husband and I really liked this. I will definitely make the soup again. I rated this a 4* only b/c my son is so picky and didn't LOVE it. He initially rated the recipe a 2, but changed his mind after a couple spoonfuls to a 3 1/2. Didn't have enough northern beans, so added small white beans--which I wouldn't recommend--too mushy. Served with a great cornbread and salad.

Polish Meat and Potatoes

I grew up eating a similar dish at my father's house. I love this, but the kids hate to pick out the onions and peppers.

Simple BBQ Ribs

Incredibly good. I've served this to many friends and family members who beg for the recipe. I rarely repeat recipes in the same month, but my family begs for this regularly! Make sure that you're using a quality BBQ sauce--it can make or break the dish. We love Sweet Baby Ray's, but I'm going to try a spicier sauce next time.

Baked Macaroni and Cheese with Tomato

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
My family really liked this. A little rubbery on the top after cooking for 40 minutes. I recommend checking the dish after 30 minutes.

Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2006
I was definitely expecting a mouthwatering, yummy dinner, but I was seriously not impressed. Dry and lacking flavor. Definitely easy and I'm sure it can be fine-tuned, but I'll keep searching.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2006
Delish!!!! I am NOT a seafood eater. Never liked it, but my husband loves it and since it's been a couple of years since I've made any I thought it was time. This recipe has changed my thinking completely. The fish is so mild and the sauce is perfect. My kids also told me to put it on our "favorites" list.

Orzo with Mushrooms and Walnuts

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2006
I was extremely pleased with this recipe. My entire family enjoyed--even my 7 and 2 year old who are really picky. I may add a little bouillon next time to increase the flavor.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2005
I made this tonight for the 4th time in a period of 3 or 4 months. I try not to make duplications very often, but find that this is such a well received meal by my husband and extremely picky kids! Having no complaints during dinner is such a NICE experience!!!! I usually use chicken tenders and cook about 25 minutes tops. This way there is more flavor -- it permeates the chicken a little more.

Restaurant-Style Tequila Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2005
I have to say that this is incredible!!!!! I made this for a dinner party nearly 2 years ago and my friends still comment that they think that I am the best cook! I think that this is so much better than the restaurant version! I didn't substitute anything on my initial attempt, but have since tried different types of chips. I may try to use a salsa to quicken up the prep time, but I hesitate to mess with a perfect recipe!

Black Bean and Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2005
I have to say that this is one of my favorite dishes of all time. The blend of spices and textures makes me crave this all the time! I have made this for almost every potluck and get together and my friends all give the thumbs up! The only drawback is that my husband and kids think that the texture is a bit strange. But I blame that on their unsophisticated palate! :) And then I get to eat all the leftovers myself...mmmmmmm... I rarely ever modify the recipe, but on occasion I have substituted dry spices and halved the amount of beans without changing results dramatically.
