Easy Pie Crust

This actually works great! I didn't think it would, but I just had to try it since I can't get shortening here and using oil makes it so easy! Used it in a chocolate cream pie and it was awesome! Thanks for a super fast and easy crust!

Chocolate Cream Pie II

I used a little extra cornstarch and a bit less sugar. It was fabulous! When using cornstarch, NEVER lick the spoon and return to the mixture - salvia causes cornstarch to not set up! Just a reminder for the cooks since this is delicious!!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

These pretzels were good and the dough was very easy to work with. I used 4 cups of flour and that was plenty. I did have problems with them sticking to the pan. Greased, ungreased, parchment paper, greased parchment paper - didn't matter - they stuck to the pans. I even tried "drying" them off slightly from the soda bath, but they still stuck.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

We like these even though I baked them instead of frying. Frying would definitely taste better, I'm sure. All in all, they came out very good and I'll be making them often. Thanks.

Bacon Cheddar Deviled Eggs

I made this (without the cheese since I didn't have any) and tried it and thought "no, not good at all". After filling all the eggs and refrigerating for a couple of hours I tried another one - WOW, what a difference. They were delicious after chilling and allowing the flavors to meddle. I did use a tablespoon of sour cream in with the mayo. I will make these again, Thanks.

Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms

Fantastic! I removed the meat after browning and sautéed canned mushrooms with onions to make the gravy. I also didn't have beef broth, so I used water and a bullion cube. I also added a bit of Gravy Master to get a deeper gravy color. Delicious! Thanks for a great recipe, we will be enjoying this frequently with good 'ol mashed potatoes.

Lentil Soup

This soup was awesome. I used 4 carrots and added chicken bullion for more flavor. Omitted the spinach just because I thought it tasted better without. This was a very good and easy soup to make and we enjoyed it, even though it was 100 degrees outside! Tasted even better the next day with some left over rice added in. Thanks, I'll be making this often.

Eggplant Croquettes

These are great! I baked the eggplant and pureed in my food processor. Only used Parm cheese, no cheddar and made them into meatballs. Baked them in the oven, no frying and served them in tomato sauce with spagetti. They look like real meatballs and taste great, everyone loved them. I made a huge bunch, baked and individually froze the balls for future use. Great meat substitute.

Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki Sauce

I've made this at least 3 times already and we love it. I marinate the chicken all day - at least 6 hours. In the sauce I like to add extra cloves of garlic. Very good and super delicious!

German Potato Pancakes

Excellent pancakes. I don't use the baking powder and squeeze my shredded potatoes in a cheesecloth to remove excess water, depending on how much moisture the potatoes have. Serve with fresh applesauce - YUMMMM! Just like grandma used to make.

Homemade Fresh Pumpkin Pie

I baked my pumpkin and pureed it till smooth. I made this pie which turned out very well. It only yields 1 pie, but worth the effort. I did add a bit more spice than called for and a pinch of cloves. It came out excellent. Smooth and creamy. Thanks for a wonderful recipe!

Oven Roasted Parmesan Potatoes

Loved these! I cut the potatoes in slices and added more oil into the pan than called for and baked. Without enough oil mine would stick to the pan. The second time I made these I was in a hurry so I microwaved my potatoes till they were half cooked then sliced (with skin), coated and baked. I think they tasted even better and were in the oven half as long. I used regular Idaho potatoes. Great flavor!

Creamy Rice Pudding

This is a great rice pudding recipe. I always cook extra rice for dinner to make this the next day. I put a little less sugar, no raisins and cinnamon over the top - yummmmm!

Brandied Cherry Clafouti

I can't get cherries here or a good brandy so I made this with canned peaches and Golden Rum. I cut the sugar back a little since the peaches were in heavy syrup and very sweet. It turned out very well and the custard set up perfectly. Tasted best warm and this was a very good, easy recipe. We'll be enjoying this often. Thanks for posting.

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

I made this using 1/2 apple cider vinegar and 1/2 white. I also reduced the sugar greatly since we don't like salads too sweet. It was very good and held up in the fridge for a few days. A great change from the Mayo salads. Thanks for a great recipe!
