Beef Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2015
I rated this soup on the ingredients as written, and we liked it very much. A very easy and quick soup to prepare. I don't see how some of these viewers can give a recipe a rating when they change the ingredients (they're rating their own recipe). Just saying....

Black Magic Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2015
I made this cake today and it was one of the best cakes I've ever made! I used espresso instead of regular brewed coffee and my goodness it was delicious ! I made a fluffy white frosting using egg whites and added almond extract for flavoring . The combination of chocolate, almond and espresso is one of my favorite treats! I too like another reviewer was a little worried about how thin the batter was but it baked up beautifully . I had a shaken iced espresso to go with mine , I'm going to have to skip a meal or two after all this good indulgence though !

Really Easy Bread Stuffing

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2014
Very Bland....why would you use water when broth adds so much flavor...my version is very simple and fast and everyone asks for the recipe. To start off I always add chopped celery and onion all around my Turkey in the roasting pan before roasting. This adds wonderful flavor to the broth the turkey makes. So I break up plain white bread in a big bowl sprinkling in sage, salt & pepper alternately while tossing with my hands. This can be made ahead of time and set aside ready to add your turkey broth with the celery and onions. I'm not one for measuring so I just pour and mix a little at a time until it is as moist or as dry as you like it. Then pour into a buttered baking dish and cover with aluminum foil for about 30 to 35 mins. (it will puff up under the foil). Then remove foil and brown to your liking. For an easy dressing when you're not having turkey just add sautéed onion & celery to canned or boxed chicken broth. note: I always add hot broth to the torn up bread.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2014
First time using cracker crumbs in my meatloaf....I've always used bread crumbs. The crackers made it very good ...I did however mix the ketchup and brown sugar and spread across the top......my usual topping for all meatloafts.I also added ground sage and mustard powder to the meatloaf. Very good.

Mini Wheels with Peas, Ham and Tomato

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2014
I made this with a few changes...I used penne pasta as I find mini wheels to be a little too thick for my taste. (Personal preference). And because thats what I had in the pantry.Though the photo with the mini wheels is beautiful! And I added garlic when sauteing the onions. And finally added 2 tbsps. Chili sauce...just enough for a little added flavor as some reviews said it was bland. We loved it ! This site has several good pasta salads and I think a lot of them can be made with enter changeable pasta.

Black Bean Salsa

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2014
This recipe was good but we like it a little Spicer......I eyeballed it since the original was going to be to much for us. I added 1 can of original rotel for a little kick, chopped cilantro & lime juice. This has so many uses .......we even put it on top of some tilapia with fried rice...yummmmm!

Baked Zucchini Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2014
These were wonderful! Mine turned out really crispy. I sliced them thin and baked at a higher temp. 450° and watched them closely so they wouldn't burn. I also mixed in some parmesan with the bread crumbs before coating the zucchini. I'll definitely make these again!

Green Pea Salad With Cheese

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
I love pea salads....I never use just thawed peas...I always blanc, they taste better. I added diced red onion and omitted the pickles because I didn't think the taste went with it at all. I realize this changes the dish but I added flaked crab meat and tiny shell pasta. I used mayo, but I have used Marzetti veggie dip before.......its also good in red potatoe salad...SO GOOD! My add ins makes for a one dish meal for hubby and myself at lunch time . So Good!

Chicken and Biscuit Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2014
This recipe was wonderful, very tasty and hardy. I would have to agree with a few other reviewers comments about rating a recipe when all you do is change the ingredients....... while I readily agree everyone has their own taste,... then submit your own recipe. Just saying :-)

Oven Roasted Parmesan Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2014
This roasted potato recipe was so easy and full of flavor. My husband and I loved it! I started them out at 425° as a couple of the other reviewers said they did and then turned the oven down to 350° for the last 20 minutes. They were crispy on the outside and so creamy on the inside. They did stick to the pan just a little even though I used a little extra oil, but loosened easily using a thin spatula. I served them with omelettes tonight for supper. Quick and easy , and so filling. Will definitely make these again. Thanks for the wonderful recipe ''bellepepper'' .

Creamed Salmon on Toast

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2014
I have never made anything from canned salmon but salmon patties! This recipe sounded so good I had to give it a try with a few changes, I didn't have any peas. I saute finely chopped onion, celery and portabella mushrooms in the butter. Then whisk in 1/4 cup flour......added the juice from the can of salmom, 1 1/2 Tbsp. Honey mustard that I made from honey, mayonnaise and regular mustard. And 2 cups milk ( less or more as needed for consistency). Then stired in the flaked salmon along with salt and pepper to taste. Served over Texas toast along with saute small diced potatoes with onions and an egg over easy. This was so good, my husband can't stop raving about it! I will try the original ingredients when I have peas on hand the next time , as I realize I changed it a lot.

Irresistible Irish Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
I have never mastered the skill of baking homemade bread, but as this one did not have to be kneaded and rolled out.....just pour in the pan kind of deal......I decided to give it a try. And boy was it good! LOL! It looked just like the picture. And I have never had soda bread before ......I thought it tasted like cornbread....is it suppose to? I served it with chili. And I heated up a slice the next day and ate it even without butter....a good snack.I'll definitely be making this sweet soda bread again. Maybe with raisins the next time.
