I am a stay at home mom of two young boys. I love to cook but they keep me very busy! I try and look for simple meals that they would also enjoy.
My favorite things to cook
I love making soups in the winter, I love salads in the summer. I have found some great recipes here.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have a big fish feast every Christmas Eve, with 7 kinds of fish.
My cooking triumphs
The first dinner I ever made for my husband, my bofriend at the time. Baked Ziti. He loved it. It's not even that hard but it was really the first time I cooked. When I was single and living alone I would eat a bag of pretzels or something for dinner. When I met him I started to cook.
My cooking tragedies
There have been a couple of things that just did not taste right but I would not call them tragedies!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
these were so good. I didn't have the ranch spice packet so I just put some garlic and onion powder and salt and pepper on the chicken before I put it in the crock pot. I used sweet baby rays buffalo wing sauce. I kept in for 5 hours added the butter some more hot sauce shredded the chicken and kept on for another hour.

Pesto Sauce
I followed the recipe as written to a T. I think there is way to many walnuts that is all I tasted. I would not even give it to my family

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup
the only change I made to this recipe was to cook carrots with celery and onion and added some garlic. It was so good, quick and easy! I had it for breakfast the next day LOL (I roasted chicken breast in the oven then shredded it into to the soup) I do like the idea of cooking (poaching)the breast in the broth, I think I will try that next time.
