Cool Whipped Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2014
I make this probably about 75% of the times that I actually make frosting and don't just buy a pre made one from the grocery store. My kids are the ones that I usually make cake and frosting for and they love the store bought ones as much as the ones that I have made. I love Cool Whip and instant pudding so to me this is one of my favorites and if you want a different flavor just add a different flavor of instant pudding mix and you have it in no time. I make butter cream and real whipped cream frosting as well but to me this is just as tasty and very easy and quick.Thank you for posting.

Plain Cake Doughnuts

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2014
I read and tried many types and flavors of doughnuts as I am new to baking and doughnuts are my favorite empty carb decadent treat. I have made all types of breads, cinnamon rolls, cakes, fudge and I have taken from one recipe and added to a part of another recipe and just using common sense and some of the info that I have read about and watched videos about.I am pretty confident at this point in my abilities in making just about everything that I have worked on over the past few years, but then came doughnuts and I have made more failures by far than successes. I made this after reading many reviews and added a bit more cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar etc. I used to make the mistake of adding too much flour as many new bakers do but I did not do it this time but I did let the dough sit covered in the bowl after just combining the ingredients and then put the dough in the fridge for 20 min. or so and they came out great. I dusted a few with powdered sugar and some basic vanilla glaze for a few.Thank you for posting.

Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2014
I love this recipe but it's usually too many doughnuts for my family to eat as they need to be eaten as soon as possible once they are cooked because they are fried and raised so they are not nearly as good the next day.I usually halve the recipe, warm my milk in a small sauce pan with the shortening in as well just until the shortening begins to melt then I turn off the stove and mix the yeast with some warm h2o (110*-115*) a tsp. or so of white sugar in a small mixing glass until it is foamy.I put the rest of the sugar and the salt into my 1970 something Sunbeam stand mixer bowl and whisk them together.I then add the milk and shortening(around 110*) and yeast mixture to the bowl and mix them together, then some flour and follow the rest of the recipe instructions. This recipe was my first successful attempt at raised doughnuts and it never lets me down.

Potato Rolls

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
I have used this a few times making changes depending on what ingredients I have or don't have and it's a very forgiving recipe for sure! The last time was today and I used canola oil instead of shortening and had some left over mashed potatoes that were made from potato flakes and the only sugar that I had was about 1/4 cup of brown sugar so that is what I used. Came out great!

Wacky Cake II

I have made this a few times with a bit of honing but not much and I love it. I made it this am and made a concoction of items such as peanut butter, cream a bit of this and a bit of that as I am always experimenting with things. The end result is simply stupendous! Thank you for sharing!

Very good just double the caramel sauce and halve the recipe unless you need so many if so increase the caramel type sauce by 4. Thank you for posting.

Winter Squash Rolls

Very good recipe! If you dont have any fresh squash you can substitute canned pumpkin or mashed sweet potatoes or regular mashed potatoes just simply boil them and then mash them but without any milk etc.

Very good recipe! if anyone is having a problem getting their yeast to activate first make sure the yeast is not too old second always store opened container of yeast in the fridge third add 1/4 cup hot water (110'-120') add in one packet or 2 1/4 tsp. yeast and 1 tbs. sugar that should work for anyone if it works for me trust me!
