Cherry Dessert

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2005
WOW this is really really wonderful. It has the decadent flavour of cheesecake yet it is light and fluffy. I used cool whip instead of heavy cream and thawed mixed berries in keeping with the light summery dish. The crust needed a litlle less butter and I added 1/4 of sugar. I have already made this for three different occasions and everyone loved it. I may try as individual tarts next time. Thank you Laurie this has already become a family favourite.

Excellent, these were very easy to make and so healthy. For such healthy ingredients these tasted very good. I added extra cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg and topped with soy margerine.A hit with the whole family.

Sweet and Sour Pork Patties

Reviewed: May 22, 2005
Really, really good. I only gave 4 stars because I did some changes. I baked them in the oven at 350 for 30 minutes as meatballs. I added a 1/4 tsp of chinese five spice a tsp of salt 1 tsp of ketchup 1tsp of mustard and 1 tsp of worcestershire sauce. These were unbelievable I know the mustard and ketchup sounds weird but they are delicious.

Allison's Pasta Salad

Reviewed: May 22, 2005
This salad was weird. There were too many different flavours going on. I didn't like it at all, my husband thought it was interesting. I ground some up and the baby loved it. I will not make again.

Amateur's Light Breeze Chicken Chili

Reviewed: May 19, 2005
This was excellent very easy to make. It was more of a soup than a chili but it is a great and very filling soup. I didn't add any water just 5 cups of chicken broth. I only added 1tbsp of cumin because it is so powerful. I also added basil, bay leaves, and thyme. A really great and easy recipe, everyone liked it a lot.

Santa Fe Chicken Salad

Reviewed: May 16, 2005
Excellent I follwed the recipe exactly it was amazing. Actually not exact I was feeling lazy so I bought Kraft pre-mixed tex mex cheese it had jalepeno in it and gave the salad a nice kick. I didn't use the crispy pieces of tortilla to lower calories but my husband mixed the crunch so I will use next time.

Amy's Spicy Beans and Rice

Reviewed: May 10, 2005
Excellent, easy to make and tasted great. I added half a cup of medium salsa and will switch to 1 1/2 cups of salsa next time and skip the jalepeno. I also added a tsp of garlic and only 1/2 tsp of cumin because of personal preference. I didn't have black pepper and used cayenne instead. This was healthy and very flavourful.

Green Beans with Herb Dressing

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
The sauce was very flavourful but way too much oil it made the dish greasy and too high in calories. I will make again but 1/2 the oil. I let the sauce marinate for 4 hours.

Stephan's Broiled Salmon Pesto

Reviewed: May 4, 2005
The best salmon I have ever had. I didn't add the extra lemon at the end. Next time I will cook closer to the broiler as the salmon was done yet the pesto had not browned or bubbled. Absolutely amazing.

Spicy Sausage and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: May 3, 2005
This is an excellent spicy dish. Very easy to make, and it makes a lot for leftovers. I took others advice and doubled the chicken stock and it was just the right amount of moisture. It took 1/2 an hour longer to cook than the recipe stated.

Spicy Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2005
These were good. IF I ever make these again I would cut the cumin in half as it was a little over powering, otherwise they were fairly good, my beef eating husband thought they were great the best turkey burger recipe I have found yet but I am still searching for the one!

Cream of Pumpkin Curry Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2005
Absolutely amazing. I love this soup so much. I didn't blend it because I didn't feel like making a mess and I like the texture. Next time I make it I may not even add the milk just to reduce fat and calories. I followed others adviced and added red pepper flakes, double curry extra salt a dash of cumin and a dash of nutmeg. WOW excellent recipe.

Mexican Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2005
Very easy to make. I think my salsa was too runny as the burgers were too mushy. I melted cheese on top of the salsa for a nice presentation. Although these were good I won't be making them again. I think the recipe needs a little fine tuning, the taco seasoning is just too much.
