Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2005
This was absolutely amazing the only reason I did four stars is because it has major changes. The most important is next time I will use chicken parts rather than a whole chicken. The chicken disintegrated into a gross mess and I didn't get much meat out of it. I put 1 cup of broth in the bottom then rather than slow cooked aluminum (yum!) I made a base of potatoes carrots onions and whole garlic cloves. Then I made a butter mix with 1/4 cup of butter and 1 tsp each of salt pepper garlic onion powder paprika and poultry seasoning. I rubbed this under and over the skin. When it was all done I made gravy out of the juices and WOW this was easy and very good, definately worth trying.

Pizza Crust II

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2005
I am a serious pizza lover and this is the best crust recipe I have ever had, I will search no more. I cut the recipe to 10 servings which made one deep dish pizza. I doubled the oregano, garlic, and salt. Also a trick I learned from a friend who worked at a pizzaria is to brush the dough with oil before you put it in the fridge, not the healthiest but yummy and looks nice and browned. Thank you for this amazing recipe!

Antipasto Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2005
The biggest lesson I learned from this recipe is always read how many servings it makes, this could feed 20 people! I couldn't find dry italian dressing so I used house italian in place of the oil in the dressing the flavour was really nice. When all is said and done, I am glad I tried it but I won't make again.

B.L.T. Salad with Basil Mayo Dressing

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
For the record my husband really didn't like this. I thought it was great, although I will try with regular vinegar as I found the red wine vinegar to be overpowering. Time saver tip: While you are making the salad, bake the croutons in the oven at 350 toss in a bowl with oil and spices before baking, this will safe atleast 5-10 minutes. I added chicken which was great.

Beef Stew VI

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2005
This was dissapointing, I cooked in my crock pot and it smelled amazing all day but the flavour was off, my best guess is the rosemary dosn't belong. This was the first and lat time I use boullion rather than broth. Also I couldn't thicken it for the life of me. Don't get me wrong this is good it needs serious tweeking. I think I will try a new recipe.

I thought this was good but my husband and toddler LOVED this soo much. It is very easy to make and healthy. I used 3 tbsp of butter and that was plenty. Thanks for the recipe Kat.

Baby Loin Back Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2005
These were really good. I prefer a slower cooked rib like 200 degrees for 10 hours but the flavour was great with these ribs. I loved the sweet sauce it is very overpowering and my husband didn't like it so I would reccomend not putting the sweet sauce on all the ribs. Try this you won't be sorry.

Easy Apple Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2005
Wow this is the best apple crisp I have ever had. I made some changes based on other reviews that worked out amazing. I only used 1/2 cup of water which was perfect I also added 1tbsp of vanilla to the water. Other reviewer's thought it was too sweet so I added 1/2 brown sugar to the apples rather than the already sweet cake mix. I also added 1 cup of instant oats to the cake batter which added some wonderful texture. This was really great.

Pistachio Cream Dessert

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2005
I really didn't like this. I agree with the other reviewer's that the flavour was bland. The whip cream and wafers overpowered everything and the whip cream itself was bland without vanilla and barely sweet. Also the layers were so thin that it became mostly wafer, too bad I had high hopes for this one.

Albuquerque Delight

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2005
This was so disapointing. I usually love mexican dips but this was all wrong. The full pack of seasoning in the beans was too much really over powering, the guacamole was bland and just plain sour cream on top was a blah finish. I wouldn't reccomend this dish, we threw it away, there must be a better layered dip on this site. Sorry Becky I don't mean to be harsh this just wasn't it for me.

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
This was sooo good, I have been looking for this recipe for years. I doubled the sauce which is a must, everyone really liked it. It is a good way to get tofu into the family one tip is to really dice the tofu up very small, and if you are clumsy like me buy two heads of lettuce in order to get enough pieces to actually use for wrapping

Asian Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2005
This was absolutely delicious, I cut the recipe in half and we have lots for leftovers, which is a good thing. It is really important to keep everything in three separate containers in order to keep everything fresh. Great recipe, thanks for sharing.

Marrakesh Vegetable Curry

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2005
Really flavourful, and easy to make I served over Basmati rice. I made this exactly according to the recipe except I used carrot juice with some fresh ginger and it was really good. The almonds are important to the texture, I really reccomend trying this recipe.

Slow Cooker Beef Stroganoff I

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2005
Amazing, this is so absolutely wonderful, very easy. The cream cheese was lumpy though, next time I will take out some sauce and whisk the cream cheese into that then add to the mixture. I also added 2tbsp of sour cream, sauteed mushrooms, salt pepper, garlic and boullion. I would double the recipe if you are making this for 4 or more adults. Thanks for a great recipe.

Beth's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2005
While the texture is great for these cookies they were very bland I added more vanilla which helped a little, the idea of using kosher salt would probably add to the flavour. I will not be making again.

A very quick and easy casual dessert. If you want thicker layers like the picture shown use a smaller pan. This is great for the busy mom, thanks.

Alysia's Basic Meat Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2005
The best lasagne I have ever had. A tip from my nana use 1 lb of beef and 1/2 lb of ground pork it's an old family secret. Another change to save time and dishes saute the onion and garlic then add the meat to that pan and cook together, it makes less dishes and infuses the flavour. I added a little salt and hot sauce to the mixture.
