Turkey Burrito

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2006
I did not follow the recipe to a tee. Less broth and fresh jalapenos. Let it cook in the slow cooker. Better than the usual leftover menu. My family really enjoyed these. Thanks for a unique idea!

Cajun Seafood Pasta

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2006
Make this when you are not counting your calories! Served this to dinner guests and tweaked it just a bit. No red pepper d/t request. Increased the white pepper. Used 1 lb of scallops and shrimp. Dry herbs except for the parsley. Overall fabulous taste and texture. Might try blackening the scallops next time and add the red pepper. DELISH!

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
This is the only pizza crust recipe I use lately. Even when I make it with whole wheat flour it does not deter from the taste. I also add some dried herbs to the dough. Just as the name but "quick, easy and tasty"

Only change I made was to add some linguica sausage for our taste. Excellent and easy. Thanks so much for the recipe and the idea!

Party-Size Greek Couscous Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
Made this for the 4th and no even tried it. What a shame! My husband and I loved it! I used flat leaf parsley and it had somewhat of a strong flavor. Think I will cut down on that next time. A nice change from the pasta salad etc.

Couldn't find cracked wheat so just increased the sunflower seeds etc. Processed some of the seeds. Great basic recipe. Will enjoy playing with the ingrediants. Thank you for a wonderful recipe.

Feta Cheese Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2006
Being somewhat health conscious I make these as often as I make our Portuguese Burgers. A good blend of flavors that just need a little more kick. I like to add some minced garlic and a tad of steak sauce to them. Overall a great recipe! Thanks for sharing.

Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2005
I was searching for cookie recipes that would ship well to send to my son who is currently stationed in Iraq. Not only did they arrive in one piece but they were a hit with my son and the rest of the airman. I did make a few changes. Used butter instead of the margarine, added some dried cranberries, chocolate chips, chopped pecans and a little coconut to keep them fresh. Of course I had to do a taste test before shipping and they were outrageously delicious. Thanks so much for the basis of a very good cookie. They are already asking for more.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: May 1, 2005
This recipe is simple and to the point and is outrageously delicious. I used a 3.5lb boston butt and slowed cooked for approx 13 hrs. Next time I will experiment with some additional seasoning. Could use a little more kick. I did not have Hawiian Sea Salt and used Kosher Salt. Just a slight adjustment and I would give it 6 stars.

Crab Quiche II

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2005
The taste was exceptional for imitation crab meat. I bet it would be even more divine with the real stuff. Maybe some Maryland blue crab? Quick and easy to prepare. I did add a couple of shakes of hot sauce to the filling and did not have any swiss so I substituted with provolone and parmesan. A big YUM from hubby and myself! Thanks for the recipe Debra.

Did not need to use additional liquid. Added about 3/4 cup parmesan. The flavors mingled very well together. Sensational!

Chicken Livers Fandango

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2005
The ingrediants sounded delicious. I did not have golden mushroom soup so I subed healthy mushroom soup. No white wine so I added some additional stock. I felt it cooked a bit too long. Came out a little dry but the livers made a great pate. We don't eat chicken livers very often but willing to try agin with some adjustments. IE- less cooking time and add some more liquid.

Dad's Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2005
These are without a doubt the best I have ever made. The spices really add to the recipe but based on one's taste. We like ours with raisins and chopped walnuts so I only add approx 2 cups of the oats.

This is the second Christmas that I have made these cookies. I always have to make an extra batch for my sons to take back home with them. Chewy, moist and addictive. As recommended do not overbake.
