Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2010
I doubled the recipe to take to work for our christmas party. Served on serve and bake rolls that I prepared the night before. I did add some hot sauce to give a little more kick as the bbq sauce was a little mellow. I also defrosted the chicken breast in the microwave and cut them in half before adding them to the slow cooker. This was devoured. Would def make again.

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2010
This was one of the better slow cooker recipes that I have tried lately. The gravy was the right consistency and had just a hint of cranberry flavor to it. Would make again using other cuts of meat or the round roast which I used to make it with.

Feta and Turkey Stuffed Green Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
Great change up from your usual stuffed green pepper. I especially loved the herbs in this recipe. The fennel seed makes a pleasing taste along with the rosemary and the thyme. I did not add the corn and it was not missed. Actually had corn on the side. I used 2 cans of healthy tomato soup and added some steak sauce to that and mixed it. It made a great sauce to put over the peppers.

Walnut Pear Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2010
If you like walnuts and pears I would definitely make this coffee cake. The cake is light with hints of pear and distinctive taste of walnut. We have 2 pear trees on our property which keep us in pears for the winter. Very good recipe! Give it a try.

Nutty Lemon Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2010
Followed the recipe with the exception of using the juice from 1/2 lemon. Next time I will add more as we enjoy the lemon flavor. I baked this in a tube pan which required a longer bake time. I tested with a long wooden scewer about every 5 mins. A small part of the cake still was not done but that is the fault of my oven. This cake is moist with a little crunch from the sugar mix. Just the right balance. Much better than coffee cake from the store. Great recipe! Give it a try.

Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

I followed the recipe to a T and was not disappointed. Next time I will add some minced garlic to the marinade. The chicken was done to perfection and the taste was very pleasing to the palate. OPTIMO!

Fresh Tomato Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2010
I can't believe that I forgot to rate this recipe. Now that the tomatoes are ripenig I was just thinking about the Fresh Tomatoe Pies that I made last year. WOW are these worth the wait for fresh tomatoes. I love this recipe! I do tweak it a bit. Additional seasoning with fresh herbs. Never tried it with bacon but it may be good. If I am going to have a vegetarian meal than this is just what the Dr. ordered. By the way, I do saute the onions before I place them in the crust. Thanks so much for a truly delish savory pie.

Lobster Casserole

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
We have fresh lobster on hand during he summer months and I am always looking for different lobster recipes. I did add this to my recipe book and will put this into the rotation. Now I wish we had put out more pots this year. This is tasty and the lobster holds it own even with the other ingrediants. Next time I make it I may try to add some other seafood and additional lobster. By the way, I did include some Old Bay to season it. I am from Maryland and add it to all my seafood dishes.

Italian Green Bean Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2010
Used fresh/steamed green beans as instructed to in the recipe and added some garlic pepper seasoning to the chicken cubes prior to cooking. Used 6 garlic cloves as you can never have enough garlic. Thought that the chicken mixture was a little soupy to start with so I let it evaporate to desired amount that I thought would go with the spaghetti. Served over whole grain thin spaghetti. Great for a light/healthy meal.

Asian Potato Salad

Reviewed: May 17, 2010
HI, I am the submitter of this recipe and just want to clarify the amount of potatoe to be used. If the potatoes are quite large than 6 should be enough, of course if they are smaller than use 6-10. Use your judgement. Thank you for all your comments.

Raisin Bran Chewies Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
Quite chewy but good. For a somewhat healthier version: I did add a dash of cinnamon and used only brown sugar and reduced the amount shortening to about a 1/4 cup and 4 tbsp of butter. I also used egg substitute. Sub'd pecans for the walnuts. Would make again

Molasses Cookies

MMM MMM good! Only change I made was to use butter instead of margarine and I doubled the recipe. Good tip to keep a piece of bread in the container to keep them moist. Give'em a try.

Cheesy Chicken with Easy Marinara Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 17, 2010
The simplicity and depth of flavor in this dish will add some zing to weeknight rotation. The crushed red pepper really adds to the marinara sauce and the chicken stays moist and is full of cheese flavor. The horseradish cheddar can be found at your local deli. Be sure to use fresh mozzarella for the melting factor.
