Sirloin Tips and Mushrooms

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2013
I had to cook this longer than 30 minutes, the meat was still tough at that point. By 1.5 hrs it was delicious!! Will definitely make again.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2013
This was wonderful and very easy to make! The only change I made was, I tossed the ziti in a tiny bit of the sauce before putting in the bottom of the pan. It seemes like it would get dried out without it. We don't like ricotta, so this recipe was PERFECT for us. The sour cream was a nice touch. I thought it was strange at first, but it turned out quite similar to ricotta but without the texture (which is what we don't like about it) Everyone loved it so we will surely be making it again at our house!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2012
I was skeptical...this kind of salad isn't my thing. BUT, I loved it and apparently so did the rest of the families at the Ronald McDonald House where we served dinner. The bowl went empty when all the other kinds of salads didn't!! I will definitely be making again. The only change I made to the recipe was to toast the nuts/seeds at 350 for 10min instead of using butter like other posters suggested.

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2012
I admit, I was skeptical. I expected it to taste like rice I dumped salsa on.... much to my surprise, it was not like that at all. Soooo yummy. I'll never buy another boxed Spanish Rice again!!

Lisa's Easy Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2011
The vegetables were still crunchy after an hour. I cooked the dish an additional 30 minutes and they still weren't finished. I removed the chicken (afraid it was going to be dry and overcooked at this point) and cooked vegetables 30 more minutes. When all was said and done, it was wonderful! I cut the vegetables pretty small, can't imaging going much smaller so I'm not sure what I did wrong? Will make this again, but will likely saute the vegetables a bit before adding them.

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2010
Added a bit more flour (bread flour) but otherwise followed exactly and the pizza turned out great!! Next time we'll experiment and add seasonings to the dough like garlic. It's not necessary though, this is a great dough recipe.

Slow-Cooker Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 3, 2010
Very good! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it is a bit salty and the green peppers shouldn't be added until about 1 hr. before complete because they overcook if you add them at the beginning. We will adjust and make it again!

Country Apple Dumplings

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
Excellent flavor! I only used 1 stick of butter and it turned out fabulous. No need for a full cup. Next time I will use less Mt. Dew. I think there was still too much juice in the bottom of the pan when it was finished cooking. It didn't thicken up like I had expected but I think if I only use 1/2 a can, it would be perfect.

Slow Cooker Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2010
After reading the reviews I went ahead and double stacked the corn tortillas. Worked perfectly! We served over rice. My kids devoured it and asked for 2nds. To me, that's a winning recipe!

Pork Chops a la Slow Cooker

Very tender, amazing texture pork....with not much flavor. I followed the recipe to a "T" so I'm not sure what I did wrong? Will definitely keep and add some more flavor to it next time!

Artichoke Chicken

YUM. The only change I made was to use 1 clove of fresh minced garlic and ground pepper instead of the "garlic pepper". Served it over angel hair pasta and everyone enjoyed it! Will definitely make again.

I was worried about the brown sugar in this recipe. It was good though! Not sweet at all.

Bierocks (German Meat Turnovers)

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2010
Hmm, followed the recipe exactly (used frozen roll dough instead of bread loves. 2 pressed together was the perfect size for each Bierock!) it was just OK. I don't know if it was the lemon pepper, caraway or Worcestershire, but it had an odd flavor. We had to cover the taste with mustard and ketchup. I'll have to experiment and leave one out at a time next time I make this and see which one we didn't like the flavor of and omit it from the recipe.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Sep. 12, 2010
Not sure why the hype is? They LOOK like bakery cookies but are no better tasting than the Toll House Recipe. I followed the directions exactly, baked for 15m. They are a bit dry for us....certainly not chewy! I'm disappointed.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
This turned out great! I put the chicken and all the seasonings and oil in a ziplock bag for 1 hr then tossed it with the potatoes and baked as directed. The whole family gobbled it up! I must say that fresh herbs are a MUST with this recipe.
