Polvorones de Canele (Cinnamon Cookies)

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2011
These are delicious! I coated before baking in the confectioner's sugar/cinnamon mixture, but then after baking I coated again in granulated sugar/cinnamon, which is the way they are often served here in Texas. Thanks for sharing.

Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Great recipe! I gave it 4 stars because I felt like I needed to add more garlic, salt, pepper, basil and oregano for flavor, but it's still such an easy meal and the chicken comes out nice and tender! Thanks for sharing!

Chiliquilla

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2011
This is delicious and so easy to prepare -- it's a staple in our house. Because it is a little heavy on the calories, I skip the sour cream altogether, replace the margarine with no stick cooking spray, and cut back on the cheese to make it a little healthier. But it's really good recipe either way, thanks for sharing!

Laura's Lemon Roasted Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
These were SO good! I did use less oil as others suggested and margarine in place of butter. I agree that they're not that lemon-y but that was OK by me because they still tasted delicious. I did broil at the end to crisp them up a bit more, but they would have been good either way.

Oregano Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 1, 2011
This was so easy to prepare and tasted delicious! I did use margarine in place of butter and fresh garlic. It wasn't wild and crazy as someone else said, but for the flavor and ease of preparation, its 5 stars in my book!

Beef Tips and Noodles

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2011
Nice, easy recipe! It's good as is, but even better with a little garlic, 1/2 the packet of onion soup mix, and 1/2c milk to replace some of the water. I cook it in my slow cooker for 6 hours on low. It's good over noodles or rice.

Great Garlic Knots

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
These were definitely easy, and I love the presentation, but they aren't all that garlic-y. I used fresh garlic in melted butter and added salt and pepper -- next time I'll do even more garlic.

Strawberry Shortcake Squares

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
These were really yummy and easy, as advertised. I did add more wafers to the crust as seemed to be the trend. I made everything the night before to save time and then added the strawberries just before serving. I think it would have been harder to slice if I hadn't refrigerated as long as I did.

Extra Easy Hummus

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2010
If I had known you could make hummus without tahini, I would have started making it years ago! This was exactly like the title says -- extra easy. I did add a little lemon to suit my taste.

Shrimp Lemon Pepper Linguini

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2010
Great recipe! I made some last minute substitutions because I lacked some ingredients (like the wine and the lemon zest), but for the most part, followed the recipe as written. My husband told me to give this 6 stars! Quick and easy too!

Simple Herb Rice

Reviewed: Jun. 23, 2010
This recipe is great -- such an easy way to spice up white rice! I used regular rice (not instant), so I simmered it for 20 minutes and it came out great. Looking forward to making this again.

Antipasto Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2010
I thought this was good but not great. My guests were all raving about it, but I thought it needed a little more flavor...I only was able to chill for 2-3 hours, so I think it may have tasted better if I had left it overnight. Still, it was a solid side dish for a barbecue and was easy to make. I did think it needed more sauce, so I made 1.5x the specified amount.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2010
4 stars for the potatoes for sure. they weren't as crispy as i thought they would be, but they were still really good. i didn't care for my skinless chicken breasts this way, but they're not what the recipe was designed for so i didn't factor that into my rating.

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
This soup was awesome! It tasted so good, I could hardly believe I made it! And it was so easy and the kitchen smelled fabulous all day. The only changes I made were to use Mexican style kidney beans that I happened to find at the store, 1 14.5oz can of diced tomatoes (only b/c I read the recipe wrong), and only 2 chicken breasts b/c they were all I had (and to be honest, I think it was plenty). This is going to be the perfect thing after coming in from the cold here in Chicago. Thanks for such a good, easy recipe!

Mini Pineapple Upside-Down Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2009
I gave these 4 stars for taste, but they weren't very pretty. I used regular sized muffin pans, so I cut the pineapple rings into quarters and used 2 per cupcake. I also baked the cherries into the cake as others suggested. Because the pineapple pieces didn't cover the whole surface of the cupcake, there were gunks of butter/brown sugar in between that didn't look very appetizing. If I did this again I would definitely use the jumbo muffin pan so that the rings fit better. Still, they are tasty and very moist (borderline soggy in fact, but good). And though they were a little extra work compared to regular cupcakes, it really didn't take that long to put them together.

Shrimp Scampi V

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
This recipe was great! Very quick and easy, but definitely not lacking in flavor (I was generous w/salt and pepper). I used 1/2c of wine and 1/2c chicken broth and frozen, pre-cooked shrimp, which I soaked in water/lemon juice (as per another reviewer's suggestion) and added them at the very end. I couldn't believe how good it was for as easy as it was to prepare.

Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
This ham was awesome! I made it for my first Easter dinner and it got rave reviews. I used a 9lb spiral cut smoked ham, and since it was already cooked, it was actually ready after 3.5 hours on low. I will definitely make this again!

Gina's Lemon Pepper Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2009
I usually try to follow recipes exactly the first time around before tweaking it, but since other reviews said this was a little bland, I thought it would be more flavorful to brown it first in some butter and lemon juice. I also used the proportions of spices that the recipe called for but a more generous amount. Hubby and I both loved it -- quick and easy, with a nice light flavor. Low fat too!

Basil Chicken and Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2008
This recipe is awesome! I've made it as is, which is very good, and I've also made it with a little cajun seasoning and a little lemon pepper, which I thought was even better! Also, I rarely have heavy cream on hand, so I use 3/4 cup of milk and 1/3 cup butter/margarine instead, and I would definitely recommend doubling the sauce. Thanks for a great and super easy meal!

Grilled Sausage with Potatoes and Green Beans

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2008
Good and easy. I followed other reviewers' suggestions, and cooked in the oven at 425. I should have microwaved the potatoes first though, because they still weren't quite done after 40 minutes and the green beans were wilting. Also, I seared the sausage with Worcestershire sauce and some fresh garlic before I put everything in the oven. This recipe tasted great, even if it took longer to cook than I would have liked.
