This is is an excellent recipe! Tastes even better the second day as leftovers. I made a few changes though that I would like to share. With these changes the prep time is a bit longer:
I added 1/2 bunch green onions chopped; used 1 and 1/2 tbsp chili powder (I'm from Texas and we like it hot!); 1 and 1/2 clove garlic chopped; 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar and 1 cup shredded taco cheeses in the mixture. Then I used 1 cup shredded cheeses at the end as topping. Once it came out of the oven, I added 1/2 cup chopped onion to the top. Instead of 1/2 cup water, I used 1/2 can RO-TEL green peppers and chilis (including all of the juices). Also, instead of 1/2 pint (8 oz) sour cream, I used 4 oz sour cream and 4 oz cream cheese. I think this really added to the richness and flavor of the recipe. ENJOY!!
