Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2004
Tried this for our Xmas dinner with a family of picky eaters. They absolutely loved it. Pork was juicy and tender and simply delicious. I was a little concerned about the sherry sauce...so I also made traditional style gravy with the marinade after cooking. The gravy had a nice zing to it and was a big hit. I enjoyed the sherry sauce...but was the only one :-( We also used the leftovers the next day to make a fantastic stir fry as suggested previously. Just save some of the cooked marinade to help brown and flavor the meat and rice. Great recipe that we'll be using again.

Garlic Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2005
This was a great dish. Very simple to make. I had to modify it a little, using frozen pre-cooked shrimp and dried parsley flakes because of lack of time, but it turned out great. Very flavorful. Thanks!

Chicken Tacos

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2006
Very tasty! I made the lemonade fresh and only used 1/3 cup of it, added a half tsp of salt, and some black pepper. I cooked it until the sauce was almost gone and shredded the chicken while it was still cooking. It turned out fantastic! Even my somewhat picky 3 year old was asking for more.

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2006
Deelish! I added some ingredients other people suggested (basil, thyme, black pepper, etc) and used more garlic cloves. It turned out to be very tasty. This was also a really easy and quick meal to fix. Thanks!

Oat Crusted Fish

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2006
Great change of pace. I used walleye brought back from Canada and it turned out fabulous. The flour before the egg/milk really helped coat the fish and stick the oats. Nice heavy coating gave the fish a wonderful texture, almost nutty. Everyone loved it even the picky 3yr old. When I make this again I will probably add some seasoning to the mix as that was the only thing lacking.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2006
Terrific! I just finished baking my first batch of these cookies (I cut the salt like some others suggested, used walnuts in one batch, pecans in another) and they are great. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2006
Wow, what a great cookie. The peanut butter flavor was perfect. The texture was a little on the crumbly side, but I liked it...it was a good change of pace and strangely not dry at all. This recipe is definitely a keeper. Thanks!

Jewish Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2007
Wow, this was great! Very moist and great flavor. I substituted brown sugar for the confectioners like many others suggested and it was fantastic. My family and in-laws finished it before lunchtime! Definitely a keeper. Thanks!

Oh My Gosh Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2007
Very good but a tad too sweet for my taste. If I make these again, I'll use a lot less sugar. Other than that, the muffins turned out very moist with a nice light banana-y flavor.

Pecan Breaded Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
This was a very good recipe. I followed some of the other suggestions to boil the chicken first and I had no problems with it being undercooked. I also added about a tsp of garlic powder. Even my 5 year old was asking for seconds! Thanks!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
Wow! This has got to be the best fish recipe I've come across. I left out the celery salt and lemon juice, added the garlic powder and paprika like others suggested, and used about 1/8 cup of olive oil instead of the butter. This was absolutely delicious. This is definitely now my favorite fish recipe. Thanks!

Slow Cooker Roast Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2008
This was great. So simple to prepare. I added some freshly crushed garlic and used low sodium soy sauce. I served this to a family of picky eaters and there were no leftovers! It was falling apart tender and had perfect texture, not mushy at all. Like others, I didn't cook this on low for the full 22 hours. I cooked it on high for 6 hours then turned it to low for the last 2. Thanks! This was a hit.

Southern Moon Pies

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2008
My husband begged me to make these. I have to admit I had my reservations, but after tasting my first one, I don't regret it! The cookie part was very easy to make, but I followed some others' suggestions. I used a level tbsp versus the rounded one and flattened it a bit before baking. My cookies still turned out quite rounded (I can only imagine what they would have looked like had I used the full rounded tbsp!) And based on the "too buttery" comments on the frosting, I only used a third cup butter. These were absolutely fantastic! Reminded me of a smaller Suzy Q but not as sweet. Definitely a keeper. Thanks!

Grilled Rib Eye Steaks

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2008
This was excellent! I marinated the steaks for 15 hours for a Labor Day cookout. I didn't have the green onions on hand so I used 1/2 cup of chopped dried onion. The steaks were so tender, cutting through these was literally like cutting through butter. I thought about reducing the marinade for a sauce like other reviewers did, but it was so flavorful and juicy that we didn't need it. This was gobbled up by my ridiculously picky in-laws. Thanks for a wonderful and very easy recipe.

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
This was delicious! I tried to make it a little healthier by using only a tablespoon of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. I also added a little parsley for a bit of color. I had no problem with undercooked potatoes; they were done in exactly 30 minutes. Thanks! This is definitely a keeper.

The Meatball that Fell Off the Table

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2009
I followed this exactly as written and it turned out great. I used a cookie scoop to form the meatballs and served it over egg noodles. My two boys, 6yrs and 2.5yrs, have never been so quiet at dinner. Excellent!

Garlic Chicken Fragrant Rice On a Budget

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2009
I made this exactly the way it was written and it turned out fantastic. Great flavor, wonderful aroma and very easy to make. My 6 and 3 yr old both ate it up! We had parmesan chicken and asparagus and this rice as a side dish. Wife and I had a little white wine. Delicious. When I make it again I plan to cut the olive oil a little, add more garlic and another green onion. Just my personal taste. Give this one a try.
