Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2013
I made this last night for my family since it was the first snow of the year, and everyone loved it. I have never made my own cornbread, just bought Jiffy. This recipe was easy to follow and had amazing taste. I followed the directions and cooked my cornbread in a preheated oven for 30 minutes and that was perfect. I put my batter in a cast iron skillet to cook and it made it moist and fluffy. Perfect recipe and will definitely use this again especially since it is so easy to make. Like I said I have never cooked cornbread before and I did it the first time. Thanks for a great recipe!!

Pretty in Pink Sangria

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2012
This was such an easy recipe and a good one at that. I made it for a small dinner party and everyone loved it. I had many people asking me for this recipe. It is a very subtle alcohol drink that is very smooth and full of taste! I had to put it in my recipe box so I can use it again. Thanks for the great recipe.

Habanero Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 1, 2010
I thought these were really good. I took them to a cookie exchange and while some of the ladies were fond of them, their husbands are the ones that raved about them. Yes, they are pretty hot. And, no, I am not going to take away stars because of a lack of glove language. If so, I'd have to deduct stars from every recipe that involves a knife that doesn't remind me not to cut my fingers off! Thanks.

Pork Apple Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2009
We had these, made exactly as the recipe stated, and hamburgers at the same cookout. There was no comparison. The pork burgers received rave reviews from all who tried them. The pork burgers are good by themselves, but the pineapple really tops them off (literally and figuratively). We are splitting a hog with another family, and we didn't know what we were going to do with the ground pork. Now we know!

Buffalo Chicken Wings III

Reviewed: May 14, 2008
Very good. I used this recipe as the basis for some chicken strips (I alter most of the recipes to what we have in the kitchen). I've never used tomato sauce before, and I was a little concerned that the sauce was going to come out, well, tomato-y. It didn't make it taste that way at all, and it did bulk up the sauce, so we didn't have to use as much hot sauce but somehow the spice was still there, even before I added the following spices: Cavender's Greek Seasoning, black pepper, minced jalapenos, and garlic powder, as well as the butter, hot sauce, chili powder and cayenne that the recipe calls for (sorry, I didn't measure anything). It turned out very spicy, and all of our guests loved it. We are going camping this weekend, and a friend of mine requested that I make it and bring it. He said "We'll put it on something. We'll just dip chips in it if we have to".

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

I love this recipe! I made it and sent it to my husband in Iraq. It is great for sealing for at least up to 2 weeks. He said it tasted GREAT! He keeps begging me for more. Highly recommended.

Blackened Salmon Fillets

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2004
This was a great and easy recipe. It didn't take hardly anytime to make. I don't care much for salmon, but with this recipe you didn't have that fish taste. I tried the parkay fat free butter, and I didn't use that much on it. I feel that might have made it not "smoke out the house." I did use a little olive oil in the pan while cooking so it wouldn't burn as easily. One review said use chilli powder and it did taste good with it also. I recommend this recipe for people looking for a quick and great tasting salmon.
