About this Cook
Howdy! I'm here on Allrecipes to enjoy one of the greatest requirements of life, fuel! Which to me is also fun and a pseudonym for food. :)
My favorite things to cook
I like things that aren't too heavy heavy. If they make me feel comatose after the fact I'm out.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family hails from the Ozark mountains, meaning lots of fried and preserved things. Those I treasure most are when they are derived from ingredients I grew in my modest square foot plots out back.
My cooking triumphs
Once, and hopefully in the future, I made a sinfully awesome barbecue setup: 3 kinds of filled mushroom caps, 4 kinds of chicken kabobs, homemade salsas and a self-serve mojito bar featuring the many varieties of mint I grow outback (mint, pineapple, chocolate, spearmint). Phew! That was a helluva picnic. :)
My cooking tragedies
crepes. These flightly little devils still haunt me to this day. Luckily Barker was able to save that one brunch, unfortunately he no longer is one of my roommates and I haven't had one since. :(

Mushroom, Cheese, and Haddock Bake
Boyfriend couldn't get over how buttery this dish tasted- by that he adored it. The funny part is I completely omitted the butter. Only olive oil was used. My best guess as to why is the mushrooms (baby portobellos). I did add a bit of red pepper, yellow onion and diced jalapenos to finish off what I had in the fridge. This is going on the rotation for sure. Thank you for posting! Oh and as for the liquidy issue goes, just let it go under the broiler for 5+ min to dry up some of the juices. Enjoy!

Cool Cucumber and Avocado Salad
Very good. I didn't follow the recipe to a 't', as most users seem to have done. Even without the tomatoes, sugar and curry powder this recipe was a success.
