This was a very good recipe. I made a few alterations based on some suggestions: 1) I added 1 tbsp minced onion and 1 clove of garlic, minced to the butter and sauteed until tender. 2) Instead of adding the flour after to the milk/butter, I made a roux by adding the flour to the butter and gradually adding the milk. However, I found that doing it this way caused it to became too thick, and I had to add extra milk. 3) While still yummy, I found the Parmesan flavor slightly overpowering. We love Parmesan, but I was expecting more of a smoked salmon/spinach/caper flavor, and found that they came second to the cheesy flavor. Next time I would cut the Parmesan in 1/2. Overall, very delicious!
