Sausage Pasta

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2014
This is absolutely fantastic, and a great base for pasta dishes in general. I eat this all of the time. However, I change it up a tad bit. I use fresh spinach and turkey sausage. I tend to skip the parmesan and the chicken broth, but either way it tastes good. Canned diced tomatoes make your dish a bit watery, so if you don't like that, I suggest adding a teaspoon or two or corn starch to thicken it up. You can also bu red cherry (or grape) tomatoes and cut them in half and throw them in the frying pan instead. If you want some more vegetables, I find that mushrooms really enhance the flavor of this dish (I prefer crimini or baby portobello as they have an earthier and stronger taste). Throw in some parsley and/or chives to top it off. And if you like mozzarella, some fresh mozzarella in the end takes the dish to a whole new level! An amazingly tasty dish and one that is easily changed and played around with.

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2014
It was good--I'd make it again! I found it lacking in flavor though. I suggest adding a bit more herbs to the chicken before browning it. I also added baby portobello mushrooms, and they turned out amazingly! Lastly, increase the amount of thyme, rosemary, oregano, and basil you use! Add fresh garlic to the onions when you brown them. It pairs well with angel hair pasta and green beans.

Penne with Spicy Vodka Tomato Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Jul. 12, 2014
Make a few adjustments, and this dish gets better! I did this recipe a bit differently than instructed. The first time I used cream, but it just didn't thicken correctly and I wasn't as big a fan of how it shaped the dish--it made is very liquidy and took the flavor out of the meat and vegetables. So the second time I did not use the vodka or the cream, and it tasted very good! The canned tomatoes adds a natural sauce to it, so adding cream isn't necessary. I also added cut up green beans, peas, and mushrooms to give it more flavor and more of a nutritional value. I also substituted the Italian sausage for poultry Italian sausage (note: it taste just as good with tofu, for my vegetarian friends!). Lastly, as I'm sure everyone knows, you can use whatever pasta you want! Enjoy!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: May 22, 2014
A really good recipe. I suggest adding a bit of cinnamon or vanilla to it for that extra bang of flavor. It's also incredibly easy to add mushed up fruit (such as mangoes, strawberries, bananas, and blueberries) for fun, colorful, and tasty pancakes!

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2014
The recipe was okay. The cream cheese mix (which I added cilantro to) tasted really good. It would have been a great spread for crackers. I wish, however, that there were more filling and less cream cheese. It was a bit too creamy. I also added bread crumbs to the top of the mushrooms and it added a lovely level of crispiness! Definitely give this recipe a try, but use a bit less cream cheese and a bit more filling. Find something fun and creative to add to the recipe to give it flavor!

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2014
Really good! I found them to be a bit too sweet, so if you want use a tad less sugar. Also, one cup of oats isn't enough to make them noticeable! If you add 2 cups instead you get the texture and the flavor coming through much more prominently!

Creamy Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2014
Really good. If you want it even better add some vegetables! I used spinach and mushrooms and it really added to the flavor. Cook them up first until they begin to wilt and then add them to a layer of your lasagne.
