Cornbread Stuffing With Sausage
I had to make Thanksgiving dinner on my own and needed a stuffing recipe because I, quite frankly, have always hated it. This looked like a winner, both in prep and ingredients. I used 2 Jiffy cornbread mixes and had a fair amount leftover; Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Stuffing Mix (I can't imagine our recipe giver Sal meant bread crumbs like Progresso), and just to save a step I took another reviewer's suggestion and used sage sausage, therefore omitting the 1 tsp of sage. I made the stuffing the day before Thanksgiving, then baked it the day of (I let it sit at room temp for about 20 minutes and then baked it per the regular directions). This dish was the hit of Thanksgiving dinner, so I decided I better see what all the fuss was about -- I could have eaten the entire pan! Delish! It had a little kick to it, don't know if that was from the sage sausage or all the onions, but wow! I will make this every year from now on!

Easy Turkey Gravy
In full disclosure, I should say that I really only like white gravy. That being said, I had to cook Thanksgiving dinner by myself and new that wasn't an option, so this looked like a great choice. I made a couple of technical errors that may have effected one of the problems I had with the gravy -- first, I forgot to let the broth come to a boil before I added the cream of chicken, and second, I didn't warm my milk. All of the reviews I read said they had no lumps, but I did -- not from the flour, but from the cream of chicken. They were small, and I tried to strain them all out but still some of the slipped thru. No one but me even noticed. The main issue for me was the saltiness. Many reviewers discussed this, so I reduced the salt by nearly half, and I still thought it was salty -- I don't think I've ever said that in my life! I'm giving this 4 stars because everyone seemed to like it, but just for the salt factor alone, I will look for another turkey gravy.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic
I had to make Thanksgiving dinner by myself, and I have never eaten sweet potatoes because I didn't think I'd like them, so I needed a recipe I felt I could trust. Of course I came to! I followed the recipe exactly, other than I made a mistake and added 1 tsp of cinnamon instead of 1/2 (it was fine). This is easy as can be, I made it the day before, but baked it the day of, and everyone raved about it! I thought I should try it to see what all the fuss was about....well, I might not like any other form of sweet potatoes, but I will eat these every year! Delish!!
