Mom's 'Sweet 'n' Sours' Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2005
Very good and very easy! My family loves this stuff! I cut some pork into small pieces instead of the ribs. Served it over steamed rice with stir fried vegetables. Delicious! Thanks

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
So easy and so good! My son will never eat all of his potatoes unless I make these. It is great because the ingredients are all things that I always have and I never have to add any other seasonings to it. This recipe is perfect the way it is. Thanks!

Sesame Green Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
These come out perfect every time. Perfectly seasoned and perfect texture. I always have a hard time with fresh green beans (cooking too soft or too tough). These never give me problems. Love em!

Roasted Garlic Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
These were very good. I think next time I will probably cook a little longer at lower heat. Although the cheese on top came out nicely browned, the potatoes were not quite done. Otherwise very good flavor. Thanks!

Smothered Beef Short Ribs

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
I did use beef short ribs and I think because of the fat it made this really greasy and did not do it justice. The sauce is really delicious but I did add some cornstarch to thicken it up a little. Next time I will definetly use a better cut of meat. Otherwise very good!

Merwin's Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
This came out really good! I didn't cut the chicken up into pieces and instead used the whole breast so I had to fry for a little longer. I thought they might be lacking in flavor but the mushrooms and sauce more than make up for it. I think if I did add salt to the flour it would have made it too salty. Great recipe!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
These really are the BEST chocolate chip cookies. I cooked them for exactly 10 min. even though they didn't look done but they were perfect! Not too crispy, not too soft. Fantastic!

Garlic Penne Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2005
My husband thought this was good but I thought that it lacked a lot of flavor. I did use the sun dried tomatoes but wasn't really impressed.

Granny's Corn Flour Tortillas

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2005
These were really good! I used a cast iron skillet heated on high to cook and that works better than a skillet. Watch out though, they cook really fast. Also I waited a little to long during the "resting" period to roll out and it dried out a little so I just wet my fingers a little with some warm water and rubbed a little on them before rolling and that worked pretty well. Family really liked them. Thanks!

Jeff's Chili Con Queso

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2005
Made this for Superbowl Sunday and everyone loved it! I thought the cheddar would make it greasy but it just added some really good flavor. Much better than just processed cheese food. Really good!

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2005
These were really good but the flavor seemed to be just a little too strong, I think next time I will use a little less vinegar. I did make the salsa and thought it was ok but I will probably stick with mine. But all in all I will definetely make again just tweek it to our taste a little more. It really does look harder than it is though and will definetely impress guest. Thanks!

Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2005
Very good and very easy. My son loved it and my husband really liked it too but I think I served it with the wrong side dishes (mashed pot & corn). We all thought it tasted like a really good parmesan chicken and I think next time I will make a good marinara and some spaghetti to go with it. Thanks!

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2005
We thought this recipe was great! It would make a really good meatball sub. I did brown the meatballs first before adding to the sauce. If I were making subs then I would leave it alone but if I were using for spaghetti then I would probably double the sauce recipe. Thanks!

Savory Crab Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2005
These are awesome! My husband doesn't like green onions so we put the stems, garlic, and a little white onion in the food processor and then sauteed in the butter. We also added a little salt and just used some canned crab meat. Restaurant quality if i do say so myself, hehe. Thanks!

French Baguettes

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2005
These baguettes are freakin awesome! Until today I was a bread-making failure but these were really easy. I don't have a bread machine so I just disolved the yeast and sugar in the warm water and let it sit until frothy and then just mixed with the rest of the ingredients. Kneaded it until smooth, followed the rest of the directions and bam! Bread success! Thanks so much!

Crawfish Fettuccine I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2005
Holy Moly this stuff is hot! Don't get me wrong, it is really good but I thought that the other reviewers were just being wienies when I read about cutting back on the cayenne pepper. We all eat really hot stuff but boy was I wrong. Cayenne pepper is not to be toyed with! Delicious none the less, I will just heed others advice in the future. Thanks!

I pulled this recipe for my husband and these are great! They really are like something you would get from a restaurant. He made them for New Years and everyone loved them. I highly recommend.
