Teaching myself how to cook and knowing I cannot cook using measurements. A pinch of this and a pinch of that is my method.
My cooking tragedies
I made this slow cooker recipe once and it was horrible. My husband even said it was more like a dessert kind of thing because it was so sweet. It was a chicken pineapple sweet potato recipe.

Slow-Cooker Corned Beef and Cabbage
This was very good. I did change it up slightly. Instead of beer I used 1/2 cup simply apple apple juice, 1 can of beef broth and water to make 4 cups of juice. I seasoned the meat with dry mustard, garlic powder, pepper, the seasoning packet and a bay leaf. I forgot the pearl onions, but it was good without it. I changed the potatoes to 2 medium white and 2 medium red and used bagged baby carrots. I also did not add the cabbage in the morning due to lack of space. I ended up taking the meat out for 20 minutes and putting the cabbage in to at least get it semi cooked. It was ok, but could have cooked longer and it would have been better. Next time I will chop it up in small pieces and add it right when I get home. I will be making this again as everyone loved it and the leftovers.

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
My Family loved this. It was quick, easy, and very filling. We even had enough left for lunch the next day. I changed it up a bit. I seasoned the meat and put it in the crock. Then I added a full bottle of bbq sauce (I added water to half the bottle, shook it, and added it in) and stirred until coated. I poured root beer in until meat was just about covered. Cooked it for several hours (4 on high). Then I added in diced onions and stirred. Let cook for 2 more hours then drained. Shredded meat then added a large bottle of bbq sauce. Put back in for about 45 minutes to heat up sauce. Served on sesame buns. Great with coleslaw and tots.

Mongolian Beef I
I changed up the marinade for the meat a little bit, but it was really good served over fried rice. I added some mustard, pomegranate juice, low sodium soy sauce...lots of it and extra garlic. My Husband loved it. I will make this again.
