Greek Penne and Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2005
This was so good! The suggestions from other cooks made the recipe perfect! Less pasta is better and using crushed or diced can of tomoatoes instead of a tomato makes it more saucy and less dry. Marinated artichoke hearts and lemon zest added great flavor too. I always use a mixture of olive oil and butter for cooking. A keeper in our recipe box!

Emily's Famous Hash Browns

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2005
I thought it was weird that this recipe has so many different reviews, but this just wasn't good to us. I thought the flour and egg were fine (used less flour than recipe), but it was the oil. After the hash browns sat out on the paper towel they were still very oily. Maybe we will try MISSCATIAS suggestion of cooking them with no oil.

I marinated these for over an hour and they came out so flavorful and tender! The best shrimp I ever had! I made a butter garlic sauce and served with linguine with fresh parsley on top. Can't wait to make again! Thanksyou!

Elegant Pork Loin Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2008
My first go at cooking a pork loin and I don't think it could have come out any better. Mine was only 2lbs so I cut the time in half. It came out nice and juicy. The sauce came out really yummy, but my loin didn't produce much, if any, drippings so it was mostly a wine sauce with some apple juice.

Creamy Chicken With Pasta and Broccoli

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2006
I liked this, but there is something missing. Next time we are going to replace the water with white wine or chicken stock. Looking foward to it... Update-used Pinot Grigio instead of water and it helped a lot with flavor. I had no cream cheese so used sour cream instead.

Wicked good! Yes, I said it! We halved it and I was a whimp about putting 1/2 of each pepper, but next time I won't be a whimp. Make sure you have lots of bread for sopping!!! THANK YOU!

Salad with Artichokes

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2005
I liked this salad, but next time I will cut down on the vinegar. It was over powering for me. I want to taste the natural flavor of the artichokes and I couldn't with the strong vinegar flavor.

Garlic Pita Bread Bites

Reviewed: Jun. 15, 2005
Not bad. Mine came out really dry, so I served with garlic hummus. Next time I will use less Italian seasoning, more garlic, and add some olive oil. I served with the Bow tie sausage, tomato, and cream pasta recipe from this site. Love that recipe!

Rainbow Clown Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2010
This is a great idea. I have made it a few times for cupcakes and noticed if you want clean layers of color to make sure the batter is thick. When I had thin batter the colors moved around more than when I had thicker batter. I think you just need to use one less egg to make it thicker. It didn't affect the taste. This is my new Easter tradition! Thanks for the idea!

Sooooo Good! A very mild but fresh and natural taste. We used fresh Italian bread instead of hamburger buns. YUM!

Yummy! I don't think I will make burgers any other way. Skipped the bacon, but added chopped shallot into the burger.

Grilled Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2005
You don't need to soad the corn before cooking with the husks on. I never do. I put the cobs on the grill as is and they come out fresh and tasty!

Yummy and easy. Only thing I didn't differently was add a can of vegetable stock instead of water at the end. I also eyeballed the herbs and it was perfect. Can't wait to make again.

Good stuff...I like the idea about using taco meat too...we will try that. I mixed mayo, bacon grease, white wine vingar and basil in a small bowl and used it as the spread...I need my mayo. Thanks!!
