Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2014
I just finished making these for my husband for a yummy Sunday morning breakfast that was easy and used ingredients we already had at home. They turned out delicious! We wanted sweet crepes, so I added sugar, vanilla extract and grated lemon and they were perfect!!! I definitely mixed all the wet ingredients together first and sifted in the dry ones instead of what the directions here state (mix the eggs into the flour). My brain automatically imagined a lumpy nightmare trying to do that! So I can't comment on those specific directions but I do know that my way worked and the batter was smooth and the crepes tasted heavenly!! I wish I had room to eat more! Excellent recipe, will make again definitely!

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
Well, the name of this recipe is bang on. I literally cannot stop making (and then eating) these. I had to buy more flour today just to feed my addiction. If we don't have these in our house, my husband gets antsy about it because he loves them possibly even more than I do. I say 'possibly' because that's just what he tells me, but I honestly have a hard time believing that. Maybe it is a tie. Maybe. I didn't change anything in this recipe, it isn't necessary. Make these, and enjoy!!

German Chocolate Cake Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
This frosting turned out perfect. I doubled the batch because I was making a BIG cake. I ended up having enough left over to freeze and make another. It was awesome both times! My mum literally had multiple family members *hint* that she wanted the same German Chocolate Cake I made with this frosting recipe for Mother's Day. She also told me herself, about three times :) It was a hit and everyone loved it. I didn't change a thing! Thanks for a great recipe!!

Amazing!!! Didn't change a thing and these were the best pancakes I've ever had!! The only thing that would make them better would be if someone else made them for me, lol!

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2014
This is so delicious, it's unreal. honestly. You need to make this. I decided to leave out the water because I prefer it on the thick/hearty side and used less apples (because I only had a small dish) - but other than that, followed the recipe exactly and my man and I were in a surreal apple crisp heaven!! I want to eat this every single day. Forever and ever. It's probably the best dessert I've ever had, and I'm the kind of girl who would pretty much always choose dessert over dinner, so that's saying something! ;)

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2014
This recipe is so delicious! I didn't change a thing (except for extra brown sugar mixed with water on top because I like a crunch on top) and it's amazing! I had six bananas gathered in the freezer and thought my collection was getting a bit excessive, so I was really happy to find a recipe that used them all up! It's moist, dense and has so much awesome banana flavour - simple and delicious! I just tried a bite while it was cooling down and still nice and warm and I am in banana bread heaven! So easy to make also! This will totally be my go to recipe from now on!

Pastry Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2014
I made this last night and it turned out excellent! I folded in whipped cream and used it for the filling of a pastry similar to the Napolean (or mille-feuille). It was easy, 100% lump free and delicious! My custard-obsessed husband couldn't get enough! I left it in the fridge overnight before folding in the whipped cream because I began preparing it quite late and was too sleepy to wait for it to cool! It was much firmer in the morning, more gelatinous even, but just needed a good whipping up and that brought back the velvety consistency. Excellent recipe, I'll be using it lots!
