About this Cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
My adult kids could be anywhere for New Years Eve but they would rather spend it at my house eating seafood. I cook they eat all night... calamari, scallops, king crab, octopus, shimp, lobster and more! A feast for the eyes and stomach.

Thai Steamed Mussels
My family's newest favorite! They at first balked at me steering away from our usual tomato based mussels....but now....Thai Mussels are all they want. If it's not spicy enough add more red curry paste. Cooking is a science...experiment...I don't know how people cannot like these!

Sopapilla Cheesecake Dessert
This is an amazing, SIMPLE, delicious dessert. I used 2 (8 oz) cream cheese and cut the sugar to 3/4 cup, added an egg as other reviewers suggested. The first time I baked this I baked it for 45 minutes...it was too long a time...bake it for 35 minutes for perfect sopapilla.

Nutty Apple Salad
I liked the combination of ingredients, I didn't like the juicy dressing it had over it (that was the only complaint I had from my kids). I would leave out the milk next time and add more mayo.
