Absolutely Ultimate Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2000
This is the best potato soup I have ever had. I have allowed it to live in my own recipe box at home - a place reserved for only the best. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2015
This is a delicious recipe but don't make the same mistake I did. After reading one review I decided I too wanted to use buttermilk and have them taste more like my home made donuts. So as suggested, I eliminated the baking powder and used baking soda. I could not get them out of the muffin tins! I threw the first batch away because all I had were crumbs left from digging them out of the pans. (yes, I did grease the pans!) I even tried some in a regular sized muffin tin, but had the same bad luck in getting them out. I tried loosening them around the edges, I tried letting them cool. Nothing worked! Had I used papers I would not have had this problem, but I suspect the muffins would have stuck to them as well. So I began again and used baking powder. They came out much better. I made a double batch and make a small cake and 6 regular muffins. I was so frustrated by this point that I didn't take the extra step of dipping in butter and then sugar. I just sprinkled a mix of cinnamon and sugar over the tops. They are good and worth making, but if you mess them up like I did, beware!

Honey Baked Lentils

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
This recipe is pretty easy to make and it's quick. My daughter told me about this recipe last summer and I'm finally getting around to making some as it's one of those do nothing dreary winter days. It just came out of the oven and my husband tasted it and promptly got himself a bowl. He said "This is really good!" I like the mild sweet taste and love that it is fat free.

Best Cream Of Broccoli Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2012
I just made this for tomorrow night. We've been buying Subway's Cheddar and Broccoli soup and I make a good homemade version, but we've had Timmy Horton's cream of Broccoli soup a couple of times and I was looking for a recipe like that. It's just as good as the soup with cheese, but a bit healthier. This is just the soup I was looking to make. And very easy!

It was a bit on the bland side. With all the seasonings I was expecting more.

Crisp Little Lemon Cookies

Reviewed: May 23, 2010
It was easy, true. And I know the times they are a changing, but I was raised on homemade and do homemade myself. I love cakes made with cake mixes, but this cookie tasted like--well--eating a cake mix. Ok, but not great. I don't think I'll make them again. Also it was a bit of a pain to mix and mold the cookies because they were so dry. For a little more effort you could have a really great homemadelemon cookie.

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2010
This is the best rice pudding I've ever made. I only had long grain brown rice in the house and didn't want to wait until I could get white rice. I doubled the batch and used skim milk. I too added some cornstarch to the milk mixture. First I cooked the rice, then mixed up the eggs/milk/sugar/spices.(I used cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla) I decided to cook the milk until thick and then add to the rice, which worked quite well. Mmmm. It's yummy, creamy and I will make this recipe again!
