I am a mother of two small children. I have a huge passion for cooking. I read cookbooks and chef's books as fast as I can get my hands on them. Living so close to Chicago, my husband and I try and experience every type of food we can. My son who is 6 years old has already become a "foodie" and will try anything once. He has eaten shark fin soup, fish heads, oxtail, jellyfish, oysters, sushi, and cow intestines. He is always so proud of himself when he eats something and even if he doesn't like it, he always says at least he tried it!
My favorite things to cook
My husband is from El Salvador, so I cook a lot of central american cuisine. I make a lot of beans and rice with different meats. I love to cook any type of food. One of my favorite things I like to do is make my own beef and chicken stock. I roast the bones and mirepiox and simmer it for hours. I use it in everything I cook and it makes such a difference. Makes the house smell good too!
