Backwards Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2010
We spent big bucks on a standing rib roast for Christmas dinner, which made me very nervous. It was one of my Mom's specialties, but I'd never cooked one before. Followed this recipe exactly and it turned out perfectly. So grateful Ken shared it!

Crispy Gingersnaps

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2010
This is identical to my grandma's gingersnaps -- one of my all-time favorite cookies. I have been making it for almost 30 years and it doesn't get any better than this. Everyone I have made it for loves them!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2010
Dee-lish. I followed the suggestion to halve the sprouts before cooking them as well as to cut out the "choke" at the bottom, and they turned out great. You do have to keep shaking them to keep them from burning, and I didn't leave them in the entire time called for -- these definitely need to be attended to. But we thought they were marvelous!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2005
We had this for dinner last night and while it wasn't bad, it wasn't as wonderful as we hoped based on all the five-star ratings. After reading the negative ratings, I think the problem might actually have been that folks used thick chops. Ours were bone-in center cut (not thick) and they were very tender and plenty moist. My reason for the three-star rating is that I just didn't care for the flavor of the sauce. Maybe too much wine, too much cream-of-mushroom -- the smell of the breaded chops frying was heavenly, but all you could taste was the cream stuff when it was all done.
