About this Cook
We are two sisters, Elizabeth and Joanna, who use our AllRecipes account to share recipes we find here.
My favorite things to cook
Elizabeth is a baking expert and since she's moved on from dorm life, she's gotten into cooking just about everything. Joanna likes to keep it simple; she loves her slow cooker so much she bought one for Elizabeth for Christmas one year. Joanna also makes her own yogurt.
My favorite family cooking traditions
At Thanksgiving, Elizabeth makes amazing pies. It's something the whole extended family looks forward to.
My cooking triumphs
Elizabeth made chocolate chip cookies for our grandmother and she said they were like gold. Joanna makes a chicken dish with salsa and cut up vegetables and a little cheddar. Everyone loves it and it's no-fail (does that count as a triumph?)
My cooking tragedies
Joanna once tried to make a Moroccan lamb stew from the New York Times food section. It took half the day and tasted terrible, but mom ate it anyway.

Leah's Chicken with Chickpeas
I used chicken breast cut into cubes and chicken broth instead of water. I also added carrots and zucchini. Next time I will add the zucchini later so they aren't over-cooked and I will try adding cumin as other people have suggested. Although this was not super flavorful, it was a good hearty meal that I will definitely make again!

Stewed Cabbage
Very easy and very good. A good side dish when it's cold outside.

Fish In A Vegetable Patch
I enjoyed this recipe as a nice change from the usual fish dish. I wasn't paying much attention and used probably 2x the Worcestershire sauce called for. Maybe more. It tasted great! It added a nice richness and tang to the sauce. I also used tilapia fillets, added garlic and failed to garnish.
