Jan's Pretzel Dogs

These are WONDERFUL! I made them last night for NYE and they were a huge hit! I was admittedly a little nervous about making them (working with yeast) but they were surprisingly easy to make! I followed the recipe exactly, no changes. Make sure to pinch those edges, like others have said! Even though a couple of mine came loose, they looked and tasted great! I also liked that even after sitting out for a little bit, the pretzel stayed soft--didn't get hard as a rock. This recipe is definitely a keeper! Thanks!

Ultimate Frozen Strawberry Margarita

WOW, what a great drink. I halved the alcohol since people were saying it "sneaks up on you". This was absolutely delicious. What a great way to try out my new blender!

Delicious Grilled Hamburgers

I'm giving this 4 stars because everyone at my cookout raved about them, but I didn't even get to try one! I omitted the liquid smoke, as I wasn't sure if everyone would like it. Will try it with the smoke next time when I'm cooking for just me. :)

Ranch Dressing II

Absolutely delicious! I double the herbs and use fresh chives...I could eat it by the spoonful. I omit the buttermile and use it mostly as a veggie dip. Thanks for the recipe!

Baked Potato Salad II

I got a couple compliments on this recipe, but I didn't think it was anything spectacular. I really don't like mayo, so I used the 1/2 mayo-1/2 sour cream as others suggested. This mostly just seemed greasy and was lacking flavor. With a few modifications it might be more my taste. I also used fresh chives instead of the green olives.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

This was really good, however I needed more broth than what was called for. I think Corrine's suggestions are good, but that takes away COMPLETELY the point of being able to just throw ingredients in a crock pot, turning it on, and walking away. Thanks for the recipe!

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

I made this for my dad's birthday and it got really rave reviews. Yes, the cut of meat is expensive, but really well worth it. I wouldn't change the recipe itself at all, just maybe tweak a technique here or there. I didn't think the sauce needed to be made ahead of time as others suggested; being well prepared takes care of this. And definitely do *not* blend the sauce altogether...the nuggets of shallots and bacon are really what makes it. Thanks very much for the recipe!--It was terrific!

Cheesy Pizza Dip

I am giving this 4 stars because everyone that tried it really liked it, but personally I'd give it three with the potential of more with some tweaking. It does take on a horrible color, so I sprinkled mozzarella cheese and some pepperoni bits on top. It definitely needs more than 5 minutes in the oven. I'm not sure what the function of the green onions is--I probably won't use those next time. I also might try layering the ingredients next time--putting the cream cheese and sour cream on the bottom, then the sauces, then the cheese, etc to see how that works.

Garlic Lover's Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine

I am giving this three stars because although the dough worked well in the bread machine and cooked very well, the taste left a lot to be desired. It seemed that when you ate it there was garlic in there somewhere but you couldn't exactly pinpoint it...yet you had garlic breath afterwards. (My boyfriend and I were mystified by that.) Even without the garlic, the taste was extremely bland and left a lot to be desired.

Great pie--wonderful for summer. Very light and cool. I used a shortbread pie crust instead of regular and I think that gave it a better flavor. Thanks for the recipe!

Aaahh! Potato Soup

Raymond, you're a genius! This is one of, if not THE BEST potato soup I've ever had. I added several handfuls of pre-cooked bacon bits and some freshly chopped scallions. Also added a handful of shredded cheddar right after the cream. I had to add a little more water to cover everything. I wasn't sure about adding the potatoes from the au gratin mix, so I did. Might not do that next time...a little too many potatoes. I will be making this again, SOON. And again, and again, and again!! A meal in itself!
