I know we’ve all heard it a million time, eat less and exercise more. In theory its simple but in all practicality not so easy to implement, and for some of us it isn’t that simple. Sure I do eat A LOT of simple carbs and cheese, oh I do love cheese. However I cannot stand that people judge me… MORE

My husband is gone for the next 2 weeks for training. That leaves me home with DS1 and DS2. Knowing how they are and DH is not only NOT picky he loves my cooking; I steeled myself and planned in advance picking out recipes I thought my boys would at least tolerate. I also work full time so I… MORE

My bestie Jennifer told me about these ladies. It appears they only cook once a month. They cook a month worth of meals in one day. Say What?!? Are they crazy?!? I couldn’t imagine all that work crammed into one day. Plus how exactly do they make fried chicken then freeze it? Anyway since I start MORE

About Me
I am a self-taught cook with a passion for comfort foods. Soups, stews and casseroles are my faves. Having lost almost 30 pounds recently with another 40 or so to go has taught me an entirely new way to shop for, prepare and enjoy food. I am learning I don’t have to give up the types of foods I love, just the way I make them.
My favorite things to cook
whatever...I just like to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have lots of them. We try a new breakfast casserole everytime we bring breakfast to Sunday School and our Sunday night Bible study we all try to out do each other with our refreshments. Its a lot of fun to try new recipes to Wow everyone.
My cooking triumphs
I found a recipe for drunk chicken and smoked it. The most incredible chicken I have ever tasted. I wish I would have kept the recipe.
My cooking tragedies
Oatmeal in the slow cookers. By Morning it was hard and crusty all around except the very center, which had the consistancy of paste.
