Bourbon Pecan Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
Wonderful! Great company or special night dish..... I also browned 2 min. per side and finished in over at 350 degrees for 15 min. I had flattened the chicken so this was perfect. The sauce is rich, and has complex flavors.... I only used 1/2 of butter called for and it was still yummy!! Highly recommend!!

Chocolate Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I have made this cake at least 5 of 6 times because everyone keeps requesting it. It is fabulous!! It does need longer bake time (1 1/2 hours) and I beat the butter and sugar a full 5 minutes before adding the eggs. The coffee enhances the flavor of the chocolate - you cannot discern the coffee at all. My most requested cake.... try it!!!!

Classic Texas Caviar

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
Made this for New Year's Day and it was wonderful! We thought it was just right - I used two jalapenos but removed all seeds and most of the ribs... For our family - the heat was just right. A keeper - Thanks!

Classic Cranberry Nut Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
This is my favorite Cranberry bread recipe except my recipe calls for 1/4 cup butter instead of the shortening. I have also added 1 1/2 cups of light raisins along with the 1 1/2 cups of cranberries - delish and beautiful as well. The original changes I found in a children's book called "Cranberry Thanksgiving" by Wende and Harry Devlin.

Lemon Poppy Seed Bread

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2008
I have made this bread for Christmas gifts and family consumption for many years (12+) My recipe calls for 3 Tbsp. of Poppyseed 1 1/2 cups of oil and instead of lemon it has 1 1/2 tsp. of 3 different flavorings (vanilla, almond, and butter) The glaze has 1/2 tsp of the same 3 flavorings with the sugar & orange juice. This is quick to make because you can just dump all the ingredients into your mixer and let them combine. I always put a sheet of wax or parchment paper in the bottom of my pans and always make 2 regular loaves. My family would send me home if I failed to bring this to Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers.
