Omigosh, I love these cookies! Just like everyone else, I did make a couple tiny changes, but I can't say for sure if that had an effect on the final product. With modifications, it's a 4.5. Without, it's a 4. First, I pureed the dates in with the oil (I used olive oil) and banana. I also added in nutmeg, cloves, and cinnamon, and chopped walnuts. Finally, in regards to the "gummy" comments, I added in some baking powder. (I 1/3'd the recipe, and therefore used 1/4 tsp of baking powder. For the full recipe, you'll want to use 3/4 tsp baking powder.) Mine weren't gummy a-tall! They were dense, but moist, slightly sweet, nutty, banana-y, chewy, and fantastic. Not cakey. They are not sweet, just for fair warning. I put a drop of agave on one when I served it to my Amor. They were like mini banana-bread cookies. I definitely recommend these.
