Coconut Cream Pound Cake

This is by far the BEST coconut pound cake recipe ever! It absolutely NEVER disappoints. The only change I made is to add about 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract to the batter. Otherwise, it is just fantastic!

Salisbury Steak

I, too, believe it is unfair to rate a recipe you have not tried in its original form first. However, that being said, I will say that this is, for my family, a 5 star recipe. Salisbury steak as my dad makes it has always been my "most favorite meal" and I beg him to make it for me every chance I get. I tried this version (on my own, without that pesky begging business) and thought it was very, very tasty. I may post my dad's version and then everyone can rate that separately. (His is very close to a lot of the "fixes" many posters suggested) I will not go into how he does it differently here because it is a somewhat different recipe. I loved this one too and believe it is worth 5 stars!

Chicken and Sliders

I LOVE sliders. In our family however, we make it with pork. We buy a fairly inexpensive pork roast and "stew" it like you do a chicken, with onions, celery and chicken broth. Then, make the sliders and continue as with the chicken recipe. It is SO yummy!!!!!!

Beer Butt Chicken

Now I didn't change a thing and I loved this recipe. It can be a bit tricky to get off the can without spilling everything all over so I'll use the idea to spray the can with non-stick spray before cooking. However, the flavor and moistness of this chicken is unsurpassed and I've tried SO many recipes hoping to get THIS result. It really is DELICIOUS!!!

Sweet Easter Quick Bread

I only gave this recipe 4 stars because I think the amounts must be off somehow. While the bread did turn out delicious, I had SO much batter, there was NO WAY it was going to fit in only 2 loaf pans, let alone the smaller, 8" kind. When I was mixing it up I wondered if someone was playing a trick on us with these amounts and directions.I wound up using 2 very large loaf pans and put the rest in a 9x13 pan. The name is a little bit misleading too because this is really a rich, sweet, quick bread rather than buns. The bread IS good, especially with butter but next time I bake it, I'll cut the ingredient amounts in half and I bet I'll still wind up with two loaves.

Chai Tea Mix

I used all the spices including the extra ones and I've mixed it hot and cold, with milk, with water, with a mixture of both, and I've even added a bit of chocolate syrup to the cup after it's mixed. It's just fantastic. Everyone at work loves it and lines up at my desk in the morning for their cup of Chai! THANK YOU! This recipe is definitely a KEEPER!

Creme Brulee French Toast

I just fixed this for our Christmas morning brunch and it is the most delicious, satisfying, and EASY recipe in the world! My husband complained that by the time he was ready for seconds, there were no seconds to be had! Absolutely DELICIOUS!!!

Easy Ham and Cheese Appetizer Sandwiches

I'm giving this 5 stars because it was delicious. I altered it just a tad by using deli rolls and making them into full-size sandwiches. I put them together with the top of the bun on top of the fillings and then wrapped them in foil and baked them for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. The cheese was melty and the buns were crisp. They were really good. My husband was not as crazy about them as I was because he doesn't really like onions but he DID eat all of his and then the 1/3 of mine I could not so he liked them well enough! Give them a try... they really are good and very easy! The spread is delish!!!

Grandma Flo's Shipwreck

My husband and I loved this. It was so easy and quick to prepare and tasted delicious right out of the oven and as leftovers for lunch the next day. The only change I did was to add some garlic salt and about 1/2 t. sugar to the mix when salting and peppering it. Thanks for the recipe!!!

Chicken a la King I

I was never a fan of Chicken A La King but my husband asked me to try making it. I added 2 T. dry sherry and used all chicken broth in place of the water. I also used evaporated milk for the milk. My husband doesn't like chicken breasts so I used boneless chicken thighs and I'm telling you all... it was fantastic!!! We truly loved this dish and it will be a regular on my weeknight table. Not only does it taste wonderful, comforting and homey, it's easy and quick! Thank you Colleen!

Blondie Caramel Heaven

I thought the comment by Rubenette was pretty harsh, "this recipe stinks!" Well, I don't know what she did wrong but this recipe is superb!!! Don't be thrown off by the bad comments because these are delicious. It states clearly that if you wait to cut them until they're cool, the mushiness is gone. I found this to be true but it's so hard to wait!!! Great recipe! Give it a whirl! :)

Irish Soda Bread I

I just made this bread (the first Irish soda bread I've ever made) last night and it is fabulous!!! Super easy and comes out perfectly... not too sweet, just the right taste for our corned beef and cabbage dinner tonight... the people at work are raving about the second loaf I brought in today! Couscous Salad with Chickpeas, Dates & Cinnamon

I don't generally like couscous but wanted to try this for my new husband who does. I tasted it immediately after putting all the ingredients together and it was fantastic! I couldn't stop "tasting" it and by the time he got home from work, I'd eaten at least one serving! It is easy, and oh so delicious!!! Please try it!

Collard Green Risotto and Pot Liquor

What can you say when a recipe is simply perfect??? This recipe is fabulous and well worth the time and effort. My dad was born and raised in the south and we all love southern food. Pecan-Crusted Catfish with White Cheddar Grits

This recipe was fantastic!!! My husband who "hates grits" said, "I could make a meal out of the grits alone!" He told me I should invite everyone over to taste how delicious catfish and grits could be. I followed the recipe exactly except that I didn't have any green onions so I chopped about 2 tablespoons of regular onion and cooked it with the grits. It was absolutely DELICIOUS! The catfish came out perfectly. I DID put the breaded catfish in the fridge for about 15 minutes so the breading would adhere better and it did! Please try this. It only took me about 30 minutes to get supper on the table and it tasted fantastic!!!
