Slow Cooker Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2012
Great! I followed some advice from other reviewers. Boiled, NOT oven ready, noodles layered like a traditional lasagna. Meat sauce, noodle, cheese x 3 layers with additional meat sauce on top. Made it the night before, refrigerated, then 4 hours on low with a cup of shredded mozz added during the last 15 minutes to pretty up the top. As written it filled an oval slow cooker about 2/3 full.

Puffed Cauliflower Cheese

This was good, with an interesting texture. It needs more of a taste profile. Garlic/Onion powder maybe?

Perfect! I used roasted cumin and it had just the right mix of sweet and spice for my bbq country ribs!

Taco Seasoning I

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
Really nice flavor! Added 1tsp on cornstarch. A single recipe is enough to flavor 1lb of ground beef and 1 can of refried beans.

Made as directed with a leftover hambone tossed in for good measure. An outstanding and easy recipe.

Italian Sausage with Farfalle and Broccoli Rabe

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2008
Good taste, but sauce didn't thicken and the cheese didn't melt in but just kind of turned into a goopy mess in the middle of the pan.

Dilly Crab Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2008
It was ok. Next time I'd cut down on the sour cream, it really overwhelmed the mayo flavor. I made half the recipe and it made a ton of salad.

Kabob Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 28, 2008
Great recipe, this is easily enough for 2lbs of meat and veggies. I used half the soy sauce and marinated the meat for about 12 hours, I brushed it on the veggies as they cooked

Beer Batter Fish Made Great

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2008
This was a fantastic batter, the best part about it was it required no weird ingredients. Just stuff you already have in your pantry. Make sure your oil is hot enough to ensure this comes out crispy

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2008
Great Recipe! I made it in the bread machine using the white bread cycle. I had to extend the cooking time about 40 minutes to get it done. I used unsalted butter, but think it would have been better with salted. Heavy and moist, tastes even better the second day.

Slow Cooker Split Pea Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2008
Way too much water! I followed the recipe exactly, and at the end of 6 hours on high I had a thin soup I could see through. I added another half a pound of peas and cooked it another 1.5 hours on high and ended up with a very good split pea soup, with a medium consitency. Be aware that this makes a ton of good cheap soup, my family of three could have easily cut the original recipe in half and still had leftovers.

Braised Flank Steak with Lemon and Garlic

A great use for Ranch Steak. It had a good hearty taste and couldn't have been easier to make. Nothing fancy, just a good down home "Meat and Potatoes" meal.

Chewiest Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2008
Even with the 1/4 cup of oil the batter was too thick to work with. They had a very heavy granulated suger taste to them. They tasted better the second day warmed a bit in the microwave. More like fudge than what you get in the commercial brownie boxes.

Goulash Supreme

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
This didn't work for me, I had to add more than a cup of water just to bring it to a consistency it would simmer at. It needed something more for the flavor as well.

Taco Seasoning II

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
Great Recipe for restricted sodium diets! Others might want to add 1/2 tsp of salt or so. Very similar to store brands, including thickening properties. Not too spicy, but not bland either.
