Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2010
SO good! We baked the wings before dipping them in the hot sauce mixture and this helped them to get crispier than the last time we tried this recipe. Also, we like ours a bit more spicy so I put 1 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper and used 1/4 c. butter with 1/2 c. hot sauce. Delicious!

Gumbo Style Chicken Creole

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
Thought this turned out pretty good with a few edits.. added 1 1/2 c. chicken broth, celery and turkey kielbasa. I also added Creole Seasoning and some extra cayenne for some extra spice. Thanks for a great gumbo!

Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2010
I halved the recipe, as it's just the hubs and I but as other suggested, I added a little extra flour and baking soda as my cookies generally turn out too flat. These were delicious and I could tell myself they were healthier since there was oatmeal and I used some wheat flour ;)

Caramel Popcorn

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2010
oh my goodness! LOVE this stuff! We popped our own popcorn on the stove and used 1/2 c butter instead of 1 c. I also took the suggestion of using a roasting pan and that worked great. Thanks for a wonderful new recipe!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
The flavor of this bread was good but not as moist as I would have liked. Maybe next time I will try making with milk instead of water.

Quick Gnocchi

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2010
I only used 1 1/4 cup of flour as the dough seemed stiff enough at one cup and then I used the extra 1/4 cup for flouring the rolling surface. I liked the consistency of the gnocchi but the taste was rather bland. Thank goodness for sauce to make it more interesting! I will make again but might try adding some more spices to the dough.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
Followed directions to the letter and still ended up with a very tough piece of meat.. not sure what I'm doing wrong :/ I love the marinade though! I might try it on a different type of roast and see if I have better results.

Chicken and Corn Chili

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
So of course I made some edits..I used one can of black beans, one can of pinto beans, one can of diced tomatoes, and only two chicken breasts and this turned out great. I wouldn't really call it chili but it is a yummy main dish served over rice! Will definitely make again.

Butternut Squash Fries

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
My husband and I thought these were pretty tasty. We shook them in a ziploc bag with olive oil , salt and pepper and they had a great flavor. I didn't read the instructions well and baked them at 350 for 1/2 an hour before realizing the temp was supposed to be 425. So then I broiled them for 5 minutes. Not really crispy but SO good!

Pasta Isabarte

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
I made a few changes but this is a very good recipe to start. I omitted the olives, added an extra egg and fresh garlic. It had a really good flavor but next time I will use only 3/4 lb. of pasta, as I didn't think there was quite enough sauce for the amount of pasta.

Gobble Up Granola Snacks

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2010
Ok, so I took others advice and subbed honey for corn syrup and upped the amount of honey and peanut butter to 2/3 cup.. others complained of their bars being too dry but mine were too moist! I ended up having to add in extra oats and cereal. Still delicious but beware of doubling the wet ingredients :) Also added dried cranberries.. yum!

The only changes we made was to reduce the Cream of Mushroom soup to one can and added onions and celery. Delicious and tender.. and such a wonderful smell to come home to on a cold night!

What a great recipe! We sauteed the veggies before mixing with the olive oil/garlic/seasoning and added tomatoes to the mix too. A very tasty and quick dinner!
