Tortellini Bacon Broccoli Salad

This salad is incredible! I couldn't stay out of it! I had to divide it up and "share" it with friends so I wouldn't eat the entire bowl by myself. Thanks for a wonderful new dish!!!

Chocolate Strawberry Shortcakes

Baked Ham with Maple Glaze

This recipe is awesome! I had a 4 pound spiral sliced ham. I followed the directions exactly as written...oops! No I didn't! I substituted 1+ Tbsp Jack Daniels for the vinegar. Okay, other than that I followed the recipe exactly. It rocked! Everyone loved it and I can't stop eating it. Thanks for a true keeper!!!

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I

This soup is incredible! My husband and I made it for dinner tonight and we were blown away. I added garlic with the other vegetables, and used 8 cups chicken broth. Doubled all the spices except the curry, and used garam masala for that. It was just delicious. Definitely a keeper! Thanks for a great recipe :-)

Grandma Johnson's Scones

My husband and I made theses scones this morning for breakfast. We omitted the raisins and added dried cherries and white chocolate chips. WOW! They rock! Absolutely delicious! Thanks for a keeper!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

We loved this soup! Yes, I agree it is going to be only as good as the broth you use, as someone mentioned...so use good broth! I added a teaspoon of Penzey's chicken soup base, and based on the other reviews, added chopped garlic and sauteed all the vegetables together (only 1/4 cup celery). I used marjoram instead of the oregano due to personal preference. Rotisserie chicken is so flavorful for this and ups the "easy" factor. Thank you Mary, for a keeper :)

Shepherd's Pie V

Really good base recipe. I browned the meat with chopped onion and garlic. After draining, I added 1/2 tsp dried rosemary, black pepper and Kansas steak seasoning. I used 2 cups water, three packets of Trader Joe's concentrated beef broth and one of the concentrated chicken broth. When it began to boil I added beurre manie (equal parts butter and flour mixed together) and whisked it in til it was all dissolved. Let it come back to a boil and added frozen vegs. Topped it with mashed potatoes (made with milk & butter) and sprinkled it with paprika. Family went nuts over it! Definitely a keeper!!

Southern Ham and Brown Beans

This was so good!!! I started with 11 cups water, and I did add onion powder and extra garlic. My ham hocks didn't have much meat, so I added cubed ham. I would never have thought to add chili powder to soup beans but my husband loved it!!! Thanks for a great recipe. Definitely a keeper!

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

This is delicious! I added the chopped garlic to the marinade as others had suggested and I also added wedges of Vidalia onions on the skewers. We loved them...a definite "do-over"!

Mexican Casserole

This was good, although I thought it needed a little more zing. I used really good salsa from our favorite Mexican restaurant and I think next time I'll add some seasoned beef. I will make it again.

Cream Cheese Penguins

Oh my gosh were these a hit!!! We had great fun with these. Everyone thought they were a riot. One of the guys even had us all in stitches when he ate one and was acting like it was trying to get out of his mouth! Like I said, we had a lot of fun with these penguins :-)

Amanda's Potatoes

This recipe is awesome! I reduced the brown sugar to 2 Tbsp and used peeled russet potatoes. I also deglazed the onions with a Tbsp of Madiera. Took it to a dinner group and they all but licked the casserole dish!! It is definitely a keeper. Such a great change from the cheesey potatoes casserole that we always return to. Thanks so much for a great recipe!
