About this Cook
Oh, I am a middle aged, ordinary wife and mother of three cats; Bogey, Bacall & Katharine Hepburn (we call her Kitty Kate). I love to cook, especially with my husband. And we are definitely foodies! I do a lot of charity work and one of my favorite events is the March of Dimes Signature Chef's Auction. I am usually on the chefs recruitment committee. I have made friends with some awesome chefs in Columbus. One in particular has now moved to Hawaii and we hope to visit him in April!!!
My favorite things to cook
Italian sauces, homemade pastas, appetizers/mini bites, oh-just about anything! And I like to cook for my 5 y/o godson's preschool class. They love it!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving is my most favorite holiday! My husband and I cook a very traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings. He is the gravy master and I am the noodlemaker :-) We fill our house with family and friends and savor the day!
My cooking triumphs
My husband and I catered the appetizers for a friend's wedding last year. We pulled it off! It was gorgeous, tasted awesome, and I never want to do it again!!!
My cooking tragedies
Last year on Thanksgiving the oven didn't cycle back on when cooking the turkey. We didn't discover it for a few hours! Dinner was hours late and only the white meat was done. We had just enough for dinner; and we usually have enough for everyone to take home leftovers.

Tortellini Bacon Broccoli Salad
This salad is incredible! I couldn't stay out of it! I had to divide it up and "share" it with friends so I wouldn't eat the entire bowl by myself. Thanks for a wonderful new dish!!!

Baked Ham with Maple Glaze
This recipe is awesome! I had a 4 pound spiral sliced ham. I followed the directions exactly as written...oops! No I didn't! I substituted 1+ Tbsp Jack Daniels for the vinegar. Okay, other than that I followed the recipe exactly. It rocked! Everyone loved it and I can't stop eating it. Thanks for a true keeper!!!

Chicken Wild Rice Soup I
This soup is incredible! My husband and I made it for dinner tonight and we were blown away. I added garlic with the other vegetables, and used 8 cups chicken broth. Doubled all the spices except the curry, and used garam masala for that. It was just delicious. Definitely a keeper! Thanks for a great recipe :-)
