Mexican Tomato-Flavored Rice

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2015
This is very good! I used olive oil to fry the rice for health reasons. No other changes made and we really liked this rice recipe. It is not like any other I have had so don't try to compare it with the recipes that are spicy. There are no peppers or cumin, just a mild but flavorful rice.

Chicken and Red Wine Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2015
Quick and easy along with being super tasty. I added mushrooms, that was the only change. We will defiantly have this again soon as it was a hit with the whole family.

Fried Egg Sandwich

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2015
I grew up eating fried egg sandwiches with ketchup. My husband always had them with mayo. Neither of us ever had them with cheese before. So I used both the ketchup and mayo with the cheese and I've got to say, "Why didn't I think of that before!"

Pumpkin Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2014
This is the perfect cookie recipe! I am taking another tray of them out of the oven as I enter this review. I love soft cake like cookies and the flavor and texture of these cookies is amazing. I made no changes and will make them again but I will double the recipe as these are going as fast as I can cook them. Chopped nuts may be a nice add in too!

This is a very good pot roast recipe. I love the dill in it and the vinegar. This is my favorite pot roast recipe. Thank you Deannau!

Black and White Cookies I

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2014
We called these Half Moon Cookies in Upstate NY. Instead of lemon extract I use almond. I can't seem to get the chocolate frosting right, its almost a glaze but not quite.

Fire Side Coffee

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2014
Best Fireside Coffee Recipe so far! No sugar needed, there is sugar in the hot chocolate mix. I even tried it with caramel flavored hot chocolate mix. That was amazing!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2014
I have tried every banana bread recipe known to mankind. This one (with just a few changes) was perfect. I mashed the bananas out of habit. It didn't seem like much banana, there wasn't quite a full cup so I added a bit of applesauce to make a full cup. I also added a teaspoon of lemon juice to the bananas before folding them in to the mixture. The bread turned out to be the best I have ever made. Usually banana bread is either dry or not cooked in the center. This was moist, had great flavor and even better the next day!

Super Easy Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2014
Seriously, whenever I come across a recipe like this, simple yet amazing, I always ask my self, "why didn't I think of this?" No more canned sloppy Joe's for us! This recipe was perfect, no changes needed!

No Mushroom Beef Tips

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2014
Way too much Worcestershire sauce! It was overpowering. I like meat cooked in sauce to tenderize it. This was just mixed together over the browned meat at the last minute. This was just not an enjoyable meal for us.

Easy Swedish Meatball Sauce

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
Fantastic sauce recipe! I doubled the recipe and I added 1 teaspoon dill weed and 1/4 cup white wine. I used less pepper and less rosemary than the recipe calls for. I made my own meatballs from Chef John's Swedish Meatballs on this site. After browning the meatballs for about 15 minutes I put them in the sauce to simmer for 20 minutes. It was great with mashed potatoes and even better with noodles for the next day leftovers! Not at all bland and the sauce was just the right consistency.

Chef John's Swedish Meatballs

Fantastic meatballs. I use this meatball recipe twice. Once with this sauce and once from the Easy Swedish meatball sauce recipe from this site. Both were good.

Johnny's Slow Cooker London Broil

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2014
This was good. Less fat and grease than a chuck roast that's for sure. I used red cooking wine and I had Cajun seasoning so I used that in place of the Creole and added paprika. I never thought to add seasonings like that before but it actually was tasty!

Chocolate Pretzels

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2014
This recipe is a quick and easy recipe for parties and pot lucks. I needed to bring a snack to a Halloween party. I used all fall colored M&M's on a tray of milk chocolate Hershey's kisses and a tray of cookies and cream Hershey's kisses. They were a big hit with adults and children. Such a great idea, thank you!

Creamy PHILLY Pesto Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2014
This was soooo good, we didn't think it was bland at all. I sprinkled garlic powder on the chicken before cooking. I served it with angel hair pasta and a salad. It made a great meal but next time I will double the sauce as there wasn't much.

Pork Tenderloin with Apples

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2014
The sauce was quite tasty but I should have doubled the recipe. The pork was rather bland, I will mix the sauce in sooner next time so the meat absorbs the flavours.

Easy Herb Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2014
Not bad, but next time I will omit the spices and substitute with garlic. The minced onion was a nice addition but the herbs over powered the rice and the flavours just didn't go well together.
