About this Cook
Let's see, I got married about a year and a half ago, and I've been enjoying trying new recipes. I don't cook a whole lot, but when I do, it usually turns out all right. I love to cook when I feel like it, and I luckily enough have a sweet husband who doesn't whine if I don't feed him every night. I like to cook when I'm in the mood, and I hate it if I'm not in the mood and I just have to.
My favorite things to cook
I love soups and breads. I think they are the 2 best things to cook. I also really enjoy baking and I feel like I can take more liberties with baking than I can with cooking. I'm not the best at cookies, but I'm pretty good with cakes. I just don't feel like I can eat cake
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad makes German pancakes which are kind of like crepes. He's never really written down a recipe for it, so he just kind of showed me how and I'll probably show my kids, so we don't lose the recipe. We also made Macaroni, tomatoes and cheese when we were kids.
My cooking triumphs
I don't really have any. Almost everything I've made has been okay, but nothing too spectacular. I've never been one to make up my own recipes though.
My cooking tragedies
I made this cheesy potato soup from a recipe in a quick cooking cookbook and it was a huge flop. It was like potatoes in milk with some melted cheese sinking to the bottom. I decided there on out that maybe cheesy potato soup should have a little time taken on it.

Cinnamon Bread I
I love this! I love cinnamon! I love something sweet and cinnamon that isn't a cinnamon roll. It's dense and moist and delicious. I didn't make any adjustments. Just perfect the way it is.

French Baguettes
I loved this bread. I made it with some cheesy manicotti and it was incredible. My boyfriend's picky kids loved it which means anyone would. Perfect texture. I was scared because I didn't know if my bread machine's 'dough' cycle would be the same as everyone else's and I was afraid it would rise to much, but it was just right, and so easy.

No Fail Pie Crust III
This pie crust is amazing! I want to bake pie all the time, just so I can use this recipe. I am not very good at rolling out the crust, but that's just my own folly, I assume. Delicious!
