Let's see, I got married about a year and a half ago, and I've been enjoying trying new recipes. I don't cook a whole lot, but when I do, it usually turns out all right. I love to cook when I feel like it, and I luckily enough have a sweet husband who doesn't whine if I don't feed him every night. I like to cook when I'm in the mood, and I hate it if I'm not in the mood and I just have to.
My favorite things to cook
I love soups and breads. I think they are the 2 best things to cook. I also really enjoy baking and I feel like I can take more liberties with baking than I can with cooking. I'm not the best at cookies, but I'm pretty good with cakes. I just don't feel like I can eat cake
My favorite family cooking traditions
My dad makes German pancakes which are kind of like crepes. He's never really written down a recipe for it, so he just kind of showed me how and I'll probably show my kids, so we don't lose the recipe. We also made Macaroni, tomatoes and cheese when we were kids.
My cooking triumphs
I don't really have any. Almost everything I've made has been okay, but nothing too spectacular. I've never been one to make up my own recipes though.
My cooking tragedies
I made this cheesy potato soup from a recipe in a quick cooking cookbook and it was a huge flop. It was like potatoes in milk with some melted cheese sinking to the bottom. I decided there on out that maybe cheesy potato soup should have a little time taken on it.
